Usually it is the large IC in the driver but this case it would be better to heatsink the brass module. Green DPSS laser are very susceptible on temperature.

Thanks and yea I have it in a heat sink, it bearly raises any temp at all. I'm more worried about the driver because I have burnt out two of these drivers already :cryyy:

Btw I have received another 3 modules. The outputs are :

107mW
90mW
68mW

The current wasn't set the same. The lowest was 330mA and the highest 460mA.
Potmodding didn't result in more output. I think they are set on the max in the factory.

Hey, has anyone checked out their 405nm modules? Just curious since I know we're all buying the green ones.

Yeah I have. Bought a 100mW but it was messed up, more like 10mW. Sent it back got the replacement and when I got the replacement the site showed it had because out of stock. Package arrived and it was more like a 50mW, even looked like on. So they refunded me 50% of the price I paid. Its a nice module just wish it had more power. The pot is glued so you can't turn it up, the lens is glued so you can't adjust focus. Just not really worth it, or a good deal.

That's good to know, thanks awillis :)

That's kinda interesting that they glued everything. Doesn't seem like anything but the crystal is glued in the green ones.

I put one of my modules inside one of these and I like it alot. The laser that was inside of it you could barley see.

Nice I want to try that. A nice little 2 in 1 unit!

it also has the diffraction grating too!

it's a fun little thing, I was actually amazed at how simple the mirror setup was when I opened it up.

Update: my batteries were almost dead in it so here is a pic of the diffraction grating, a beam shot, and a beam shot with a pen a made with a fasttech module.

I got my order of 5 today and here is what I found out with them.

...start up...30 seconds later...after pot mod.
1...89...............75.....................80mW
2...59...............60.....................91mW
3...75...............83.....................59mW :cryyy:
4...69...............92.....................110mW
5...63...............83.....................90mW

The pot was adjusted to increase the current draw by an average of 60 ma.
Nothing I did could bring No#3 above 59mW after the current was turned up once. all readings are mili watts.

Hey pyro - i have a couple of questions about this. First, is the "after pot mod" reading taken at startup or after warming up? Secondly, was 60 ma the amount that you felt safe increasing the current by, the amount that it COULD be increased by, or the amount needed to attain maximum mw from the laser? Thanks! I've been away for a long time, but this module was such a steal I had to have it. Mine should be here any day.
