Hi rkcstr, This is phoenix77. I've sent you several PM's & at least 1 Email about my order, but haven't gotten a reply from you at all. I know you must be terribly busy, but my name isn't even on the latest post on customer order sequence. In case NONE of my other messages got through, I will re-place my order again here. Could you please build me 2(two) 150mW driver boards? My Email address is:fusedpulse@yahoo.com   With shipping costs (to Indiana) the total cost should be $12.00, is this correct? Please send me an Email or PM to let me know that my order has been received & will be processed OK? Thank you so much, I can't wait to get my hands on them, they look like tiny works of art! THANKS/phoenix77

??

I'm sorry, I didn't see any messages from you in my PMs, and I don't delete any of them.  I also don't remember reading any emails about what you're talking about.

Anyway, from what I've read in your posts, I suggest you do more research on what you need before you order anything.  Why do you need a new driver for the green anyway?  I've never heard of them going bad

Also, these will NOT run off of the same battery voltage as the original green driver, which is ~3V.  I'm not sure what voltage the IR diodes in the greens are, but you'll need at least 2.25V over that to drive them with these drivers.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

Like a dumb a**, I was using a WAAAY too hot iron to solder the switch back on (it broke off) & I melted the switch & un-soldered several other components, & MELTED the 'pot'

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

try to fix the "un soldered" spots, and just remove the pot and jump it with solder.. then you'll be running full power:D

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

The PCB is trashed to. The copper strips on the board came off too. What mA driver do you think i can use & still be able to get the same kind of power i had before i trashed the existing PCB?

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

I would have NO idea... maybe someone with the same laser can measure the board.. but still these drivers have too much of a voltage drop.

Contact wannaburn.. he has a bunch of DX parts.. he might have a suitable driver(I know different brand but it'll still work). He is also quite learned in green lasers, and may have an idea of what ma output you need.

OK, thanks for your time & ideas. phoenix77

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

Could i run the 38ma blu ray driver with a rechargeable 9.4V pack?
Im still trying to find a power source... =/

Yes. The maximum input voltage for any of the drivers is 16V, but I'd stick to under 12V for violet diodes and under 9V for reds. Higher input/output difference will make the driver run hotter, but for 38mA, it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

Got my drivers from rckstr a few days ago but didn't get a chance to post it yet. These things are TINY!! but they look great. I'm excited to see how my first build with these turn out. Oh yea, what was with the random disc-style capacitor in my bag? lol...

It's a ceramic disc capacitor.  It's meant for use as a input bypass capacitor in case you are powering or testing the driver with a power supply or long battery wires.  It's not necessary if you're just using batteries with less than ~4-6 inches of wire connecting it to to the driver.

It's only needed for those who bought some of the first batch, the second batch I implemented an input bypass cap to avoid any problems.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

lol this is probably a bad question but, which is the bluray 38mA driver and which is the 200mA.
one has 4 smt resistors, and one has a single smt resistor.

EDIT: Oh yea and by the way, they look Great!

I'm sorry, did I send you the instructions? The one with the single 33R0 is the 38mA, the one with 4 25R5 resistors is the 200mA.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

i dont see it, im not sure maybe my spam filter took it out. if you can send it again maybe. ill pm you my email address in case you don't still have it.

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

so im trying to use these with 2 AA's in a mini maglite and all they do is get hot. im using the 200mA ones but am not seeing any current output at all (measuring with multimeter and trying with diode and trying with an LED).

i tried the driver both ways in the maglite and one way does nothing at all and the other makes it hot. are these supposed to work with 2 AA's?

see pic for details, it seems like everything should work. i have to use a wire to connect the LD because there's not enough room in the head of the maglite to put the LD on directly. im going to cut the wire down shorter later, im just trying to get to turn on for now.

EDIT: nevermind i guess it was my flashlight, it lights up the LD when i used another flashlight, kind of dim though. ill try a higher mA driver next.

EDIT2: alright I can't use these drivers at all. the LD and GND pads keep coming off from the board resulting in a useless circuit, soldering anything to this is a huge pain as well b/c of the small size. I've been messing with these things for about 3 hours and i give up, i bought 10 of these, anyone want them?

Re: Micro-Drive laser driver – fits Aixiz module

Ryan, got the chip.

Thanks
