I really could care less about burning, I mean don't get me wrong setting stuff on fire with a laser is cool as hell but I was just looking for a more powerful and visible laser with similar beam/dot characteristics and as low divergence, I love the pencil beam thats pretty bright like my current LPC826 , I just didn't realize when I started this thread that the LPC826 was as good as I was going to get.

deepest? to me that means dark red
brightest? red/orange- can you have it both ways?? IDTS
I have a 400mW635nm PL-C like new--$275-its a C-Mount of course-so spreads kinda fast and its a square box w/ some wings--just like all C-Mounts. but VERY few hours on it--make offer

Show me a 10W 685nm Laser and I bet it'll be bright. And awesome. And deep red :) I know it isn't feasible in a handheld....yet.

If I can find a real LPC-836 I might attempt a build with one as over driven as I can get away with.

I will not be murdering mine. I have never been much for murder. I just exploit until they finally croak from so much work. I can't be prosecuted and I get nearly free labor out of them.

PS - This same post on a forum regarding adopting would go over VERY badly lol.

what current are you guys going to run the 840 at? as i remember the 836 didn't like to be over driven too much.
