LPC-826 came in today

Yeah well i dunno a lot about the red diodes but as for red burning trough white paper.. issn't that a lil to much power casue i kinda don't want to burn the diode up in less then 24 hours lol

a pic to show how mega cheap but verry LONG LASTING it is on those mega batteries
( 6.6 volt about 10 Ah )

You realize that heatsink is only touching the Aixiz mount on only three tangents of the surface? It's not going to last long that way. I remember burning out many diodes after 10 seconds of amusement seeing the red dot on the wall.

Put in an order with O-like again and get this laser module holder. You don't even need to press it, it has much better heatsinking than the Aixiz module, and has a nice glass lens for red that will allow more light through.

the Aixiz stayed SUPER cool cuz it was pressed in verry tight and it's really not giving much heat away soa touch of a heatsink is keeping it cool , and i am using a glass lens... still it died after a runtime of about 2 hours , as i read that they are designed for a single 3.7 cell ? anyways 2 new diodes are on there way to holland :P

What he said man;).

lol that heatsink will be doing next to nothing!
what are you talking about ? you think that it heated up till 120 F ? answer is NO ! and the diode was pressed in just right

the heatsink will not be sinking heat from the module is what im saying.

@ 470mA with no heatsink (pretty much what you have) will burn out the diode a lot quicker.

Your better off drilling a 12mm hole through each fin and thermal paste/gluing it in with that style heatsink.

then howcome the module was cold ( maybe 5 degrees above ambient temp )
and i was using the laser outide and it was cold outside , no way that it could heat up
andwhen i was testing it inside my house well my room temp is not above 20.C , i just think i got a not so good diode .

well i red that 1 person said that those 826 diodes are designed for a singl ecell ( ? ) so a big 10 Ah battery is bad for those diodes ? and a wallsocket 4 volt adaptor will for sure kill the diode

I don't think that matters, as long as the driver gets the current right it should run decently.
