List of 445nm diodes

Updated again.

It would be nice if everyone would say whether they use the A130 or A140 diode, to see if there is a noticable difference in the data.

My second diode is in a jayrob 18650 host with a flexDrivev5 set at 600mA, Its currently putting out 375mW with a aixiz acrylic( still waiting on my 405 glass to arrive) it came from a 130( I assume all of EF's GB's came from a 130). Still alive, as I have only used it for a couple of short bursts, as I don't want to risk melting the lense. Finished building it on jun 17th.

I actually had to limit the power on my first diode, as the blue was dominating my red and green in my projector.

Today I put together my first 445 build, nothing fancy:

Dorcy Jr with heatsink from stonetek, Aixiz 405 glass lens, A130 diode. The driver is my own boost design.

520mA to the diode result in 415mW. Run time is well under one hour.

Thanks, good hint!!! I forgot about that project... I already have the IR thermometer, it is just a matter of building the sensor.

If it not precise, it will give an idea in what range I am working on.

I recommend checking this out for a simple LPM. I don't know how well this would work with such a high power diode, but it's worth a shot, should only cost about $17 to build.

XJ-A140 diode at 1A.


I don't know the output power. I use the 405-G-1 lens and a LM317-based driver. The aluminum heatsink is ⌀30mm x L65mm (finned). Total runtime is maybe 1 hour. Still working good.

Operating Time = 3~4 hours
Source= I think AJ-X130 it came from EF's GB 2 or 3.

Please take me out of the list, my measurement are way off. I will delete my posting so it does not confuses people.

I am going to build a dummy load and already ordered a LPM from Ken (Kenom). Once I receive it, I will repeat the measurement and let you know.

~500mw @ ~700ma with an aixiz 405 lens in a host similar to a pocket mini using a flex drive v4. aixiz module press fits into the heatsink very tightly.

LPM - Kenometer lite

Output power after lens is "1130mA"!!!

Hmmm... both of those A140 diodes seem to be much higher efficiency than my two A130 builds... (power vs current)

I have two A140 diodes from Daniel's PL group buy as well...

My next build will be using one of the A140's to see what it's like at over 900mA's...

i dont think the flex v4 im using is quite doing the job for mine. i expected a little more @ 700ma... ive got 2 of the micro boost on the way so ill try those out when they get here and let you know what happens..

Efficiency graph:

First, a bit of nomenclature: that is an L-I curve, light output vs. current in, not an efficiency graph. The differential efficiency can be calculated from from the slope of this curve, but I wouldn't try it with this particular curve, as it seems a bit noisy.

Second, speaking of noisy, I believe with this particular chart that that doesn't look like a statistically-significant difference to me. Both signals lie within the noise of each other, so to speak. To put it another way, both of those curves lie within the error bars I would assign to each data point, meaning, there would statistically be no difference. There may yet be a difference, I'm just saying I don't believe that graph shows much of one, especially when your sample size is 2 and diodes can vary as much as they do even within the same diode type.
