I preset that driver to 200mA (200 written on the bottom?) so I tested it personally before sending it. Can you be more specific about why things seemed fine at first? Did you test it? What soldering iron are you using, what are all of the power supplies you connected to it? Are you sure your multimeter is OK (have had people fail this way in the past) Something is up with the way you or your equipment is interacting with it, so please give me more details to help troubleshoot. Some power supplies can send voltage spikes, especially if you don't set their voltage before connecting them to the driver.
 





I meant to say everything "looked" fine at first. I tested it using the pocket mini barrel portion and a few CR123 primary's. The switch on the host is working, I checked it. It can't be the multimeter, if it was I would have got some power to the diode. I use a 35w soldering pencil. I don't know what more to tell you. Let me know if you need something else.
 
Gata, I think the problem is becoming clear. With 2 CR123 primarys you need to put a diode in series to drop the voltage to 6V, or it might damage it. This is in the instructions.

Ian, yes that is still the correct order page, UL is fine but shipping is slow to there.
 
I haven't seen this question answered anywhere, so I might just be asking something obvious: will the flexdrive drive a PHR-803T diode (Blu-ray). I think they need different voltage and current than the reds, no?

Flexdrive will handle PHR diodes just fine. PHR's run at 5V and this driver is designed to run at that voltage.:)

Just use a single lithium 3.6V battery and you will be just fine.:)

How exactly did you test the current? You have to have a load on the driver or you risk the chance of ruining it. LOAD(AKA Diode or Test Load)

How about some pictures of how you are testing it. I am very familiar with the Pocket Mini build. I am willing to help. :)

@Gata, if you start up the driver without a test load or diode hooked up to it, it'll fry! So if you want to measure the current, connect a test load to it, and measure the milliVOLTS across it's 1ohm resistor, that'll give you the current in milliamps.

Drlava,I have some questions for you.

Does this driver have wires soddered onto it to connect it to a power supply?
Can you preset the drivers current to whatever the constomer wishes before it is shiiped?
Can the power supply be a 9v battery?

Thats it.PLEASE ANSWER ASAP

OK>..First off, go to the first page on this thread and click the link to DRlava's order page. The prices are on there. Now as for soldering the wires to the driver....You will have to get that anser from DRlava. You should just do it yourself. It's rather easy. Even the smallest amount of soldering skill can get that done.:)
