What is the differencee between flux and rosin?

Rosin IS the flux.  Rosin is the material. Flux is the action. I prefer paste because my hand shakes.

Also, pre-tinning the contacts helps.

Peace,
dave

Pre-tinning? What's that?

You melt a little solder on the contacts BEFORE you solder the connection.  Then the solder on the "pre-tinned_ contacts flows together swiftly and smoothly.

Peace,
dave

Re: Lava Micro FlexDrive Driver (lavadrive2) fits

hey dr. lava,

I had an issue with one of my blu-ray customers thinking the his phr-803t pen pointer wasnt as high powered as it was tested for so he sent it back to me and I turned it up. In doing I had to solder the little bridge on the driver to get it into the higher mA range. Since I put it back together however it almost seems like it is in a pulsing mode. The batteries are connected completely and the connection is perfect. However when i move the pointer quickly around, the perfect line is now segmented in equally length segments with equal spacing between them and it varies proportionately with the speed at which I move the pointer. Is there some kind of setting I missed? I have the same bridged set up on my 6x blu-ray and it doesnt pulsate at all. I am worried about sending it back to him.

Most people report the pulsing like that whenever the batteries are dying.
