I am Peter from South Africa and would like to know where to find a person or company that could build a lasers to my spec etc.

It seemed basic when I started two weeks ago.:) Now I'm giving up after a few negative replies from some people. :(

Please reply if you need a challenge.
I could send you some spec what I need to get to.

There are some very good builders on this forum. Check out the B/S/T trade section. bloompyle is selling 2 very nice single mode lasers for great prices. If you're looking for a custom build then Blord is a very good builder and great guy to deal with. He will build a range of lasers :)

You should probably spend some more time introducing yourself and getting to know the members and letting them get to know you. If people don't know or trust you few or none will work with you :thinking:

You have me a bit confused....

This is only your 2nd post on the Forum and I haven't seen
people give you negative replies....:thinking:

Where is the Brain Riddle that is indicated in your Thread
Title....:thinking:

There is no riddle in looking and reading
in the Tutorials... Companies and Buy/Sell/Trade areas to
see who is a good builder and is possibly offering their
building services.

If you are looking for a Laser Builder..... then say so in
your Thread Title. It will attract a lot more builders..IMO

i know a few good builders, what laser do you want? blue red green violet? burning? beams? also, let us know who you are, what you do, where you live approximately ..

Thanks for all your positive replies and suggestions.
Here is the info as I mentioned.
I need a square block with dots projected against a wall. All of them equally spaced vertically and horizontally from 8 meters away.
Colour; green or blue
Wave length; not to sure which will be the best. ( most properly the safest and the clearest on the wall)

Re; at this stage we will only need to project the black dots as per sketch.

I am from South Africa and have been all my years in the mining industry.
We are manufacturing a nr of items for them.
This query of mine will be a new sector for us.
I am quite looking forward to this.

And your project shouldn't be difficult, how long does it need to run for?
 
wouldnt diffraction grating create an equally spaced "block" of dots? so basically all you need is a laser and diffraction grating or is today another one of those days where my brain is spitting out useless info? i cant have two of those days back to back so this is a good test for me before 8AM
 
Hi! I'm also a South African :) You will be easily able to do that with a green 5mW laser and a diffraction grating, they are very easy to find on fleeBay, altough you should prepare yourself for the LONG shipping times to South Africa!
 
You might want to look into a laser with a long or even no duty cycle depending on how long you need the dots projected for. If you need them for long then you will probably havr to have someone custom build your laser with a massive heat sink to deal with the heat or a smaller heat aink if its low powered
