Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Hey Kenom, hate to trouble you, but a pic to see those insert colors w/b really nice. I had thought I might shop up green, blue or red insert material, as they would add pazazz!

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

how about I link to an ebay auction for you to get an idea of exactly what this stuff is, then you can search till your happy hands fall off from clicking fun...  Now this auction isn't EXACTLY what you want.  it's 2.2mm instead of 2mm.  These grooves were designed for 2mm inserts so these MAY work but most likely won't.  but you'll get an idea of the color choices.

I search for "2mm rubber".

Or you can hit up your local bead shop (which is where I got the hollow blue tubing).  Now it must be mentioned that the hollow stuff ends up sticking out a bit more (see the pictures) than the solid core black inserts.  This is a good thing and a bad thing.  it allows for less chance of the barrel rolling but it also is kinda odd feeling.  You have to decide what you like.  I include the solid core black inserts.

Oh and the grooves are 90mm long.

When will mine be shipped? Or am I going to be last because I came into this GB very recently? I'm not in a rush to get mine (unlike some people :P), I just like being informed...

Well artix, since yours as well as everyone else but the two mentioned people above, are being anodized, you have to wait till I get them back from the anodizers. I don't anticipate them being back from the anodizer for another week 1/2. From there, I have to organize all the barrels into boxes along with all of the individual parts, and sort what goes to whom, them affix labels and postage and drop them off at the post office. I anticipate that this should be done around the middle of the month give or take. trust me, if you paid googlecheckout, you'll get shipment notice. If you used paypal, you'll get a loving email from me.

Was the situation with the lens nuts worked out? Or will that still delay shipment of the barrels?

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

the lenses were most assuredly resolved. I got an order of them last monday I believe. The only thing you'll all most likely need to get is the spring to go between the driver and the top of the battery. I recommend the spring from inside a typical ballpoint pen.

or for about the same price, you can buy a battery holder from radio shack and cut a spring of that. They work a little better because solder will stick to them without having to remove the oxide build up that you have to deal with on the pen springs. They are also wider and more sturdy.

:)

You can also usually hit up your local ace hardware store and get one there. I have purchased all teh one's I can from these guys and it takes time between shipments on these.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Are the voltage drop diodes included with the Flexdrive option?

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

I think these barrels are made to use a single 18650, which will have 3.7V and not need the rectifier diodes.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Actually you can use cr123's. but if your going to use a lavadrive the efficiency goes up by using the 18650 instead of cr123's. However if your using the groove driver there's no need So no the diode is not included.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

does it only run on one battery? is it possible to fit two of anykind?
