Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groove

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

These fit Bluefusions drivers right?

There is enough room in there to use many different configurations of driver. So yes, Fusion drives will fit inside either the Kryton or the Groove.

Peace,

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Even a homemade lm317 driver works in this. tight fit but I've seen it done.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

thank god. the thread jack has ended!!!

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

ordering up the components for the groove drives. and we are increasing the current range on the red up to 500ma.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

that means ill be able to put 1 of my open cans in ther...NICE! ;D

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

What current do you think I should run my open can at?

I'll chime in on that one...
420mA's seems to be the 'sweet spot' and will give you around 247mW's with an AixiZ acrylic lens.
I have my Kryton barrel/Lava driver set at 450mA's and an open can putting out 264mW's (same lens)
I've built a few at 470mA's too. This is pushing the open can diode pretty hard. Some may think it's worth the extra power since the diodes are only about $25 bucks.

Yeah I'd agree with jayrob. You can get more if you really really want but you WILL sacrifice lifespan on the laser diode. for example, D3stroy has a mxdl with an open can that he's pushing at 500ma. He's getting 350mW!!!! I'm sure that it's going to die very quickly.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

will we get assembly instructions with it?

Like how to ground the diode to the case

Or is that simple?

I think I'll set mine to 450mA, and use a glass lens. That should bring me close to 300mW. Thanks for the info.

It is as simple as slotting the diode in the housing if i'm not mistaken. :)

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Now this depends on the diode. If your using an open can all you have to do is press fit the diode solder on the neg. and pos. and connect the pos. to the pos on the batteries and your golden!! If it's a 803t HD diode then just solder a bridge between the neg and the casing and your golden. IT really is very simple.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

or just bend the pin to touch the casing. Right?

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

that works too.

Re: Laser Barrels V2. GB. Second run. Kryton Groov

Just ordered one with a Lavadrive2... hoping to make me a stunning 803T build to impress the ladies :D

Just wondering what order I made it on? When to expect them to be built and shipped? I tried reading through the past 10 pages, and couldn't really figure it out.
