It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

Heh. inches to cm/mm is actually very simple just multiply 2.54 or 25.4 respectively. I have a couple tape measures with standard and metric on them around the house but the problem is I can never find them when needed. The one even has a laser level built in too. ;)

How does the beam compare to 1W 445 to the eyes?

Awaiting pics in anticipation :D

Iam Looking through all the Pic's and vid's now. They will be up in a little...

But the beam makes a 445nm look like a Pin hole.LOL

At 25 feet the "Dot" Which is a Line is ~2 inches.

This is a within 12 feet pointer. Even then the dot is ~<1 inche.

Or

Lab with corrective optics. Which is probebly what iam going to do after seeing the beam in Fog with one of the diodes i have.

However when sky pointing you can barely tell its that bad and its amazing.:)

Iam going to give that a try tomorrow. Thank you for explaining that to me.:)

If you increase the power, it will appear more orange even though the wavelength has actually shifted in the other direction. Presumably because the light now has enough power to excite some of the "green" cones?

No need to send one this time. In fact, I bought one before you did, and it's still not here for some reason.

Hey Guys,

Sorry I dint post the stuff last night. I feel Asleep at my Desk.:p

Here they are. Better beam shots tonight as I just got my better camera back from a friend i lent it too.

Enjoy.

Pictures fist then Videos at the bottom:

FOGGING UP MY HOUSE LAZEERER STYLE. Girlfriend is Sleeping or she would not let me.:shhh:

The "Dot"<<< If you can call it that at 25 feet is ~ 2 inches. Look t video bellow to see how wide the beam is at this distance..

P9090121.jpg

Better outside shots tonight with better camera. There was No long exposer in this shot its Just a regular picture. So you guys can see how visible it is.

Videos:

How wide the beam is at 25 feet.LOL

Lights OFF.

Lights ON.

More Beams.

Dots at ~25 feet. From Left to Right. 50mW 635nm, 285mW 635nm, 350mW 660nm

This Laser diode will be best used with correction optics or outside as sky pointing as you cant really tell how bad the divergence is. Waiting for a foggy night.:eg:

Although these are pretty cool the beam is Just to fat after 10 feet.

When Holding the laser the beams divergence doesn't look as bad but looking at it the other way around and you can really tell.

Like i said at ~25 feet the DOT<<< which is a Line is 2 inches. I will take a picture of the "dot" with a Ruler so you can see exactly.

Thanks,
Lazee...

Wow, fantastic photos and videos, really great.

It looks great this wavelength with this power :D

Congrats  :thanks:

I see. I understand. You know i always have had trouble in this subject understanding it. I appreciate all the help you have been giving me.:)

I really cant wait to see you test this on your spectrometer. I have a feeling that its going to be <640nm even at the Max the DataSheet says at 480mA.

Not sure how hard you are going to push it. But iam going to bump mine up a little bit more.:D

It is still More Orange in color then my 50mW. Even when they where side by side at ~ the same power.

But i see what you mean about exciting more green cones at higher power "brighter" to make it look more orange.

Wow... ok... bad divergence aside, I think I'm in love.

^Exactly. I wish this diode had at least the divergence of a 445nm diode maybe a little worse but i dint expect a 2 inche beam at ~25 feet.:eek:LOL

But i think for the price its still fun.:)

Iam going to try to correct the beam with the Presumes in my second 473nm lab laser that was DOA on arival.... Maybe in the next few weeks.:)

Good work on Videos!

But why you sellect Hotlight as Host? It's Very "Cheap" for this Laser :P

*It's better to Put all these Pic's & Videos on First Post :D

You must of missed the first LPM video when i said i put this laser together quick in a simple host not to keep all you waiting.

Its going into a better host later.:)

It was Just a Test Host that i had laying around and Had Made a Large heatsink for it the other day.:)

I love that Hotlights Host. Its a Legend.

So I bumped THe currant up 33mA because i could not Hit 30mA for some reason.

Here is the New LPM test. I dint think of testing it until it started to do over 300mW. So its Just showing the top end of the test after it dropped a few mW.

Ive been using it for the past hour so iam going to let it sit for a little to let it fully cool down to do a Retest.:)

But iam Happy at this power now. I wanted 300mW on the dot but 330mW will Do.:D

Edit:

Do any of you guys think that corrective optic Dr. Lava was selling will correct this divergence some.?

Has anyone successfully corrected the divergence with a 445nm diode with that optic.?

Looks like this diode is nowhere near as temperature sensitive as the 20mW's were...

What's the longest you ran it so far?

Well the heatsink that i made for this HotLights is pretty large so last night when taking hotos and videos i ran it for ~3-4 minutes MAX.

But i normal always fallow a 1 minute ON/OFF duty cycle.:)

THe power dropped about ~20mW at the the end IIRC yesterday before i shut it off after taking photos.

But 1 minute On/Off duty cycles and you will only see a few mW.:)
