It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

im in for 10. do i send it to cyp or dtr you? ^^^ pm me.

i don't know your skills dtr.. but i know first hand what cyparagon can do. i sent him 3 635nm diodes that were suppposed to be 30mw but alex tested them and proved them to be less than 20mw. now i'm still waiting on the company to refund me.

Just shoot me a pm if you want to donate. I will not ask for money until the diodes arrive and at that point if there are more than 4 people I will reduce the amount per person based on $40/donors.;)

I will start a list in this post.

I think being able to measure wavelength is of utmost importance with these diodes so my vote is Cyparagon. I know DTR would do a great job testing the limits but if its shifting a lot we could be looking as diminishing gains.

I hope these turn out like the 445 in that they are bullet proof as well. Who knows maybe even capable of 500-600mW? The 445 were rated at 1000 and yet many people have been able to hit or come close to double that.

445's were rated at 750mW and 1W pulsed, so people that done 2W actually made it 2.4 times overspec.

They are probably coming from the manufacturer or one of their suppliers as they come in a tray and the pins are completely unmolested.

Maybe Chinese shops and/or manufacturers done a big GB? :)

cool!!! not to put pressure on cyp lol but he is really good. i was surprised at how quickly he tested every thing too. you guys wont be disappointed.

Awesome I really want to know how far I can push it without a color shift. For now I think I will just run 300mw and then tweak my flex drive after.

This is starting to get very exciting... next step maybe someone who is good with optics can come up with a lens to correct these in a handheld?

:pop:

Put me down for a donation, DTR. I want to see what the one that is hopefully in my mailbox right now can do without hurting it. :)

This idea MAY be out of some peoples range of ability but I imagine the programmers on here could work something out... found this lil baby on my favorite hobby site (Again) Color Light Sensor Evaluation Board - SparkFun Electronics if my understanding is correct its the less expensive color meter, I almost bought one to play with on my PLTB project but was concerned with burning the sensor, so It wasn't incorperated into the design....

And, how is a CCD spectrometer different from a 3-pixel CCD? With some callibration, this might get interesting!

Well my diode and flex drive is on the mail truck and should be here within the next hour or so. I think I'll toss it in my last (:() empty hotlights host which shouldn't take long. I however won't be pushing it like the mad men above ;).

Ruh Roh. I just remembered unlike the Saik a hotlights takes 3xAAA and I think the extra new duraloops I have are AA. I better go grab the ones out of my IQS pens and toss them them on my charger just to be safe.
