what about this then:
use a very powerful spotlight or a powerful xenon bult, filter a specific wavelength, say, infra red of whatever nm, then use a wavelength doubler or whatever they are called, to get something like blu ray light. then collimate this. im unsure how much power you will get though, im unsure whether you will need to filter a single specific wavelength or a range of them, lets say 800-850nm, with the end result being 400-425 nm. or something like that. with just a few small components and a xenon flashlight, this could be a portable beam, possibly very powerful, or weak as piss, cos im just theorizing from stuff ive heard.
