589nm or 473nm

I, too, think if I were in your shoes I'd get the 589nm yellow. It is an awesome color and several members have combined red and green to try to get something close. But that Na line is a color that's difficult to reproduce any other way.

Thanks for all the replies, most likely going with 589nm. But does anyone have some comparison shots of 473nm and 589nm? I wanna see how both of them look together.
 
BillyBob, take a look this yellow laser pictorial thread from brucemir, in some of the photos are what looks like possibly 473nm.
Bruce could tell you for sure what blues were used with his yellows in that thread. Whatever he used, the combo. looked pretty good!
 
Yes, look for Brucemir's artworks, they are beautiful to see, so you have also nice visual experience together with comparsion. :) Also as stated above look for diode lasers about 465 nm, not very different in color, but you get much more power. Anyway, if you are like me, you will go for DPSS because of nicer beam specs and because they are solid state lasers what I like more. :)
 
i have a dilenma as well....

should i buy a 561nm cni pgl-iii-c or a 488nm diode of the same price $900 ?

any pointer to the 561nm and 488nm side by side would greatly help..
 
Both. :D

488nm is beautiful, I would choose 488 over 561 myself. But it depends on your own personal preference.

Anyone know how long does it take till the tracking number to start working? Or will the package just show up to my house one day.
 
Should be 24hrs anyway I just seen this post and probably too late I was going to say it's not much more for the 50mw 589nm you should get the 50 you just can't have enough golden and believe me your going to wish you got the 50 if you didn't already!


I can't believe Bowtie Guy was the only other person to mention this, 30mw isn't so bright and for what $100 extra it's close to getting double power there usually over spec anyway!

Yea even with 532's 30mw is pretty weak where as 50-100 looks really good.

I can't see paying 100's of dollars for 5mw of anything and 30 is not really all that special unless your in a dark foggy place.
 
So I got my Spartan on the 4th it worked all weekend long. But just a few minutes I went to go use it outside it worked for a bit. Then decided it didn't want to me aligned correctly and not it won't produce 589nm anymore. I can flick it on the side and for a split second it will show up then disappear. Already sent a message to DL. Is there anyway I could realign it?

Get a replacement--don't mess with it--ask for the 50mw as compensation.

Damn, this sucks the one I have is quite pass 50mw though I don't have a LPM to test it. Thanks for the advice Encap.
