Hurricane Harvey

Just re read the PM and Hak mentioned he would update on Simon's Harvey Thread??
Is that a Facebook or Twitter thing?
I hope he's not that exhausted to post something that makes no sense:undecided:

Simon Harvey.

He means Simon on LPF which is Ears and Eggs. :p

I'm going to guess he meant the 'Hurricane' Harvey thread GSS.

Thank you for the update, Peter. I'm very glad to hear Len is okay. I will look for his next post. I probably know the least about social media as LPF is the ONLY one I am ever on. I refuse to log onto Face Crook, $itter, Saiddit or any of the others floating around. I'm only here for the knowledge.

I guess Len forgot to post here. Houston is clearing up a bit now.

There's another hurricane that's forming now In the Atlantic though which definitely isn't great since it's also expected to be huge and powerful.

Sorry for leaving you all hanging--MY ISP has sucked lately--loosing connections and constant refreshing.

Zero damage at my casa.

why do I feel bad about that??

was I spared for some reason?
Last night there was one last time for the river to get into my house..had calls of warning.. almost every house here was dark.

so at 3AM I jacked my camper up another 18 inches as it is closer to the ground that my house WHICH 2 days ago lost A/C..

not that I am complaining .. that is trivial.

well that 3 hours of very sweaty work was needless.

it has not risen or dropped for some time and many places north/upstream of me have water in most homes and two of my dear friends just finished repairing badly flooded homes from the last big one... flooded again.

NOA says it will steadily be dropping.

special TY to GSS-- offering to set up a 'Fund-me' - awesome friends all of you...

Glad to hear from you Len, you had us worried. :yh:
Amazing that you had no damage, hope that water recedes and stays that way!

Thanks for checking in, Len. I guess it is a mess in Houston and will be for some time. I'm happy to hear you didn't sustain any great loss. Stay in touch, buddy.

Internet connectivity is one of those things that can go away quickly with such disasters often leaving people wondering about loved ones in the area.

I still feel sorry for all the people that lost so much more than that due to flooding. In the beginning i thought this would be one of these storms that blew houses over by sheer wind speed, but the amount of rainfall seems to be much more problematic overall.

I hope this will be addressed though - there is little you can do to defend against very fast wind speeds, but drainage can be improved with investment.

Thanks for posting again. I'm also glad to hear that you are ok and haven't suffered too much damage yourself. Don't feel bad, just consider yourself lucky. Now I just hope your area recovers ok.

Super glad your ok:)
and survival remorse is always a biggie..Reason being i'm guessing is for you to lend a hand to your neighbors as i'm sure is always;)
