HOW MANY MW's DO YOU NEED TO SEE THE BEAM

I was wondering how many miliwatts do you need for the beam to be as visible as a 5-30 mW greenie?

To answer the question in the title appx 0.0000002MW

What ARG said, you can't have too many MW's in life!

OK, back to topic. 635 or 650 makes a big difference in beam visibility. At 650nm, you better look for a laser 300 -500 mW to equal a 5 mW green. At 635, 120 - 150mW should do.

^ Tha Greenlander; don´t judge on pictures you see around without perfectly knowing the camera settings and camera itself. The CCD-Sensors have a different sensibility for different colors / wavelengths.

Did you ever personally own / see a higher powered 650 / 635 nm laser in reality to compare with or are you again advertising your wrong guesses as a fact?

Edit
As Tha Greenlander deleted his post, I attached it to this mail
My reply was based on his "not true" combined with wrong "info" to the more-or-less correct info from svdr

No need to be rude please. We are all mature.

And yes I have seen a higher powered 650nm and 635nm

Then you haven't compared them side by side. My 300mW 635 is noticeably brighter than my 1W 650. Beam and spot.

As for comparing to ~5-30mW of 532? No clue. My 532 outputs 700mW. I own no other 532 :p

Edit: Also, while it might have been rude, he's still spreading correct information...

True.

And yes, I did not compare side by side :p

If we are going to be spelling Nazis.lol .. its milliwatt not miliwatts.
never mWs just mW-
just like you meant mW rather than MW and yes there is a big diff.
and quite important that you get it right.
btw a 'greenie' is a chew toy for dogs with bad breath.

hk

OP got quite some variation there with 5-30 mW

But you can see the beam with 1mW. Just open your freezer door and shine the laser through the fog :D
