Well I got' em today. Talk about a duke's mixture... Two of the bins had essentially gold plated scrap and two had working diodes that were a bit off spec, such as off wavelength, low or high threashold, mode hopping or??? I found a test paper and it gave reasons for rejection for everything from bad chip bonding to leads too short...
I found several multimode and single mode emitters in the bins- everything from 633 to 1500nm!
I only sampled about 100 of the 9mm cans from each bin, I tested half of the bin of the multiwatt bars and they were all pretty much scrapped. I some that were working at a few watts or but i believe reliability is a major problem.
The coolest ones were 3W multimode emitters at 633nm!
Unfortunately there is no way to tell them from the others, they all look the same... :'(
The good news is that all the laser diodes ARE HIGHER POWER UNITS! The sample ranges from 100's of mW to about 6W! OMFG!!!
Oh BTW this is just the stuff on the first picture- the "rejects"
Tell you what I'll sell you a bag of 25 BETTER assorted laser diodes totally untested for $50.00 a bag delivered. This bin had the 633nm diodes in it, and about 90% of the 100 units sampled worked and lased. The bin has many 808's in it also!
I also have lesser grade ones, about half of these worked. mostly IR with some 650-690nm red ones in it. These are $25.00 each lot of 25.
And i also have "junk diodes" which i'll sell by the ounce... sold for gold reclaim only, no guaraantees of *ANY* working diodes in this lot- Only $10 a bag.
