HELP!!! yobresal/survial 445 broken!

No prob bob. That is a nice laser by the way. Nice shiny heatsink, good clean lens, powerful diode.

damn seems everyone's got sorta the same prob! just got mines today and while unscrewing the top of my yobresal 445 the wires became loose and disconnected from the diode pins. wires are fine but i tried touching them and i saw the laser was weak and then no laser! some spark emitted( tiny sparks) but could it be a dead battery or did i fry my laser? help!!!!!!!!!!!

Waiting for the facepalm pic...

I think yobresal clearly states in his sale thread that disassembling the laser WILL break it.

Your laser doesn't have the same problem as the OP's laser.

You have the same problem as the OP.

Okay, just to clarify, the laser owned by the OP of this thread was not one of my builds. I simply did the repair and that is all. I believe his to be a survival lasers 445nm. As for your laser, it should have never been opened. Doing this will not kill the laser, just disconnect it rendering it useless until a resolder. The really bad thing you did was start touching wires to the diode pins without looking at a diode pin out for 445nm. From the sounds of it the diode is fried. Of course I will repair your laser but the cost may vary from $5 (just for return shipping) or $45 (for a diode replacement and shipping) Please PM me for details where to send your laser to. Thanks.

What was the reason for opening up the laser, juncosare?

Where you looking for gold? Diamonds? Well guess what, if we'd put things like that in lasers, we'd let people know.

You have nothing to look for inside a laser.
But you went ahead and did it anyway.

Why? For the love of God, why?

I will get it fixed up for you asap. Sorry for not informing you ahead of time not to open it.

Luke, nexttime you should weld your builts together :tinfoil:

I had a customer that didn't tighten the heat sink set screw properly against the diode module. So when he went to focus the lens, guess what happened.
