Heads Up.. PayPal/eBay the F%$king GREEDY PIGS.....

1) Upgrade to a premier account on PayPal if you don't have one.

2) There is an option to require immediate payment on all your eBay listings.

I never have a problem with payments getting held.

1) I've had a PayPal Premier account for over 4 years...

2) Even if you Require Immediate Payment through eBay... PayPal
will hold the funds for 21 days after the buyer pays for the item...

I don't have a problem with a buyer paying... The problem is that
PayPal sits on the buyer's payment for 3 weeks after the buyer has
already paid and eBay expects us to ship on CREDIT...

Sorry eBay...... I'm not VISA or MASTER CARD.... Screw YOU eBay !!!

Laserbee, your situation is better than mine. I have over $500 in my account that I cannot access because Paypal wants "Supplier Documentation" and "Proof of Purchase" on items that I made MYSELF on my OWN machines with my OWN material on my OWN time.

I supplied them with all the info I could possibly provide, even receipts for the raw materials, photos and documents on how "I" make them myself, however that wasnt good enough for them.

Thats been going on for over a year now. To hell with Paypal and Ebay!!

They done something similar to my dad years ago, however, a few months ago he got a check in the mail for the amount in his account. He had forgoten all about it. So maybe in 3-4 years I will get a check for $537.00

Every single person I know, regardless of how well they try to follow the rules perfectly, and provide their buyers with the absolute best possible buying experience, has been burned in some way shape or form by PayPal.

Ya know, a lot of the stuff they are doing lately seems to do with the supposed "Internet Tax". I think they are gearing up to track all of our PayPal transactions and the government is going to hit us with a stupid income tax on our personal transactions.

Again, To Hell with PayPal and Ebay!!

Feebay has turned into a rat trap for sellers, starting with the insane policy that sellers can only leave + for buyers ,,, As if there is no such thing as a scamming buyer !

I heard about the fund hold back thing, as I understand it here in the USA, it is only for certain categories, never experienced it myself. I have all 4.9's, don't know how I'd be affected if that dropped.
Buyers are now emboldened to treat sellers like crap, since ebay/paypal pretty much automatically takes their side in any dispute.

I sold an American Silver Eagle last week, ended up it sold for $39 and $2.50 shipping.
I have sold lots of these, I start them all at .99, they always make it up to spot or more.
So about 3 minutes after the auction ended, the winning bidder emails me and says hey, why are you charging so much for shipping ?
I see other sellers here charging $1 or $2 at the most, how come you are almost double of that ?
Instant red flags, I knew right away that no matter what I did or said, there would be no pleasing this guy, if in fact he wasn't just an outright crook.
I wrote back and said, first of all, the time to inquire about shipping is before you place a bid. Secondly, $2.50 is far from unreasonable, in fact with tracking, it cost me more than that to ship. I have no desire for any business with you, and you can consider this transaction cancelled.
I sent him a cancel transaction form, which he declined. Ebay said, ship the item. The guy paypal"ed me the $$, but there is no way in hell I'm sending it. He'd file a "not as described" dispute, ebay would put the funds on hold until he sent it back and I refunded. He would most likely send me back a round hunk of wood with tracking, and I'd be out a silver dollar with no recourse whatsoever.

So I'm just waiting for him to file a "not received" dispute, in which case I'll accept it and refund. He'll leave me a neg, and that will be that. I can deal with a neg, I cannot deal with $40 in silver stolen from me.
But this whole scenario is made possible only because buyers have no fear, they can act as childish and demanding as they want, and sellers can't do anything about it.

Actually, I would bet the percentage to scamming buyers, and scamming sellers is about 50/50.

I got hit by a guy once, that within the 60 seconds that PayPal allowed him to file a dispute he did so. WAY before the item could possibly arrive in Croatia, even if I sent it overnight. I think he was clicking on the dispute button constantly until it went through. Paypal agreed he was probably a scammer, but would do nothing about it.

Had another guy try to cheat UPS on an item saying it wasnt received. The lady at the UPS store told him to "F" off, as she packed it and shipped it herself.

Yes i remember this problem.
You also have to have like at least 100 ratings.

I ended up selling "E-Hugs" for $1 (minimum buy now price) and giving 50% refund after we each exchanged positive feedback.

So i would pay $0.50, and they would pay $0.50 for a positive feedback.

So far I find most of the scamming buyers are coming from Japan......which is weird. I guess their high sense of honor has gone in the shitter since WWII.

Just trying to point out that google checkout doesn't f*ck around. They take their 2.9% and give you your money, no strings attached.

How do you invoice somebody with Google Checkout? Does it work similar to the "Request Money" feature of PooPal?

Thanks for the explanation...

When I smell a scam (and you usually can) I just refund the
buyer with reason ... "no longer available" or "lost while
packaging"... then I put them on my BLOCKED Bidders List...

Was that within eBay's policy...

Are you guys sure that you have correct account (or payment settings) with Paypal? I am talking to folks who have that 21 days waiting period.

OR

Paypal for Canada is something different, but still 21 days.

I have business account with Paypal for over 10 yrs, and never had holding funds for 21 days except: eCheck.

In case like that Paypal clearly say " We advise you not to ship before this eCheck clears buyer's account".

When you set up your eBay listing do you check that box "Immediate Payment required" ?

I am not here to protect Paypal, but something is wrong here.

Or you simply accept any type of payment Paypal offers?

You can block buyers who do not have Paypal account, you can block bank transfers -- you can do so many things in Paypal payment settings.

I am talking about US based Paypal account, for Canada, or any other country I cannot say anything.

I know what an E-Check is... It is held while the
buyer's bank transfers the money owed to your
PayPal account. That is understandable and you
do not ship until the funds are cleared.

In this case the buyers payment is in your account
but you CAN NOT touch or use the funds for 21 days
and you MUST ship the item BEFORE your payment
is in your hands....

The 21 day hold is a new eBay policy...
I've been on eBay for over 4 years and I have a
premier business account in excellent standing
(according to the PayPal agent I spoke to).

There is no issues with my PayPal account...
The problem is the recent NEW eBay policy and
their unreasonable one sided DRS ratings criteria...

PM me your eBay UserName... I'd like to have a
look at your DSR ratings..

FYI... eBay no longer allows any payments that
do not go through PayPal...
You can no longer accept Checks or money orders
if you sell on eBay...

Oh OK,

DSR rating is different story.

I still have 4.9 , and 5 .

Part of that is that I included Priority mail international ONLY (real time calc.), and pretty much cut all problems.

Many countries are blocked as well.

No more emails "where is my package that I paid 5 days ago , and it is not arrived in my country, yet ? " :)

Jerry , You walked on very thin line when you shipped those expensive products of yours with regular mail. I would call it "Magnet for scamming" . I hope you did not have many chargebacks because "package is not delivered", when actually it was but you couldn't prove it.
