Heads Up.. PayPal/eBay the F%$king GREEDY PIGS.....

Yeah I saw one of your eBay accounts and there is nothing
or any incentive that would stop any idiot or vindictive buyer
from leaving you a negative or positive feedback with a DSR
rating of 1 across the boards just to screw you for the fun
of it... You have been lucky...

I could get 5 of my friends across the globe to buy the lowest
priced items from you and leave Feedback with low DSR ratings
and within 1 month you would also be on the 21 day payment
Hold policy... You could not even give Negative Feedback to
those buyers even though you know you have done nothing
wrong.

There would be no way for you to know that I was at the center
of that DSR hit... and all other eBay buyers would see you as a
guy that just turned into a risky seller to do business with...

I'm just saying that the eBay FeedBack/DSR system is one sided
and there are malicious buyers out there because there is no
reprisal possible..

I tend to agree with you... with the buyers being the higher
percentage of rip-off artists...

Jerry

I understand your frustration, but we are sellers , and professionals.

You cannot be in this business take it too personally. Many buyers are not idiots, just completely clueless, and confused, lack of basic tech. knowledge playing huge role as well.

If you read my post/s you will see that limiting intl. orders only to higher priced (and better tracked) shipping option will solve many problems.

I understand that you selling higher priced items , and this shipping "trick" would be very useful in your case. Serious intl. buyers interested in your product will pay higher shipping price.

About option - 5 friends leaving negs:

Question to start with is: why?

1 . If seller have very honest, and open communication with his customers neg is very hard to get. If you resolve any problem, and buyer's concern within 30 min. you will hardly get neg.

2. Isolated cases are possible, and other customers are not stupid. They will easily see that one neg is nothing comparing to thousands of positive feedback ratings.

3. In an extreme situation like: organized attempt to put your business down (business that feed your family- in many cases), you have to have extreme countermeasures ;) . I have mine, you should have yours as well.

4. Believe me if you think that in such an event when organized attack happens there is no way to find out who, why, and where- you are wrong. There is a way (pretty simple way) to find out who is behind such an evil activity.

In the end , instead of wasting your valuable time on eBay, Paypal wrongdoings -You can concentrate on your standalone web store.
Believe me if you are good seller with very good products, and support services (and I know you are) it will work flawlessly.

Once you reach high number of good customers, you will enjoy working, and selling without even thinking about eBay - even if you have to close your eBay store next day.

Piece of mind

As I've stated previously.... I understand fully what you are
saying...

eBay is only one of the Venues where we sell our products...
As of Jan this year it has become my least interesting venue
since we are putting up less and less auctions...

We've been in business for near 30 years and we are not
new to selling or good customer service...

When eBay comes to rattle your cage because of vindictive
buyers (BTW we only have 2 Neg reps in the past 12 months)
and limits your account you will no doubt sing another tune.

We are basically saying the same thing about the way we take
care of our customers and the way they should be taken care
of...

You guys completely misunderstood my comment. I was not comparing the number of legitimate buyers/seller to scamming buyers/seller.

Rather, I was stating that JUST in the scamming crowd, the number of scamming buyers and number of scamming sellers are probably close. I think if there was a way to really find out, you would see that the majority of scammers engage in both scam buying, and selling.

However, you are probably right, there a likely a bit more scamming buyers. Considering the above.

How seller can scam you on eBay, Amazon,... ?

Maybe I am missing something, but would really like to see that scenario.

One way is called Shill Bidding....One LPF Member has already been
thrown off eBay for getting caught practicing that...

You have just posted quick solution for that problem.

I thought that scamming is something else. Only stupid sellers would do something like that.

Now, when you mentioned bidding- do you know how eBay is "scamming" eBay sellers.

Bidder 1 enters max bid of 20 USD that he/she is willing to pay (that is hidden of course).

Bidder 2 is bidding let's days 17 USD .

Bidder 3 offers 17.50 USD

End of auction

Bidder 1 won that auction, with 17.95 USD.

Question : How much seller will get paid for that item sold?

That depends on the starting bid..

Are you asking what price the item will sell for
or the amount the seller gets to keep after paying...

1) the insertion fees
2) the Final Value Fees
and
3) the PayPal transaction fees ...

So I don't give feedback to buyers anymore unless they give it to me first - it's one way to try to limit the amount of hijinks that buyers try to pull - and so I have a bunch of people that I've never given feedback to. I just got an email from eBay.

Don't forget to leave Feedback!

Be an eBay star by leaving Feedback. Enhance your trading reputation, increase buyer loyalty, and encourage your trading partners to leave Feedback for you by expressing your opinions and your transactions.

Why leave detailed seller ratings?

In addition to leaving positive, negative and neutral Feedback, buyers can also leave Detailed Seller Ratings (DSRs) that are not visible to the seller. DSRs reflect a seller's overall performance and raise awareness among other buyers in four areas:
Item description
Communication
Shipping time
Shipping and handling charges

Marketplace Safety Tip
Don't forget to pay your seller. A bid is a binding contract and, unless the item has been ended by eBay, you're obliged to pay the seller for that item.
If you've had any issues with a trading partner, try to resolve them before you leave negative or neutral feedback. Use your common sense and good judgement when leaving Feedback for other members, as what you write will be a permanent part of that person's record on eBay.

lol eBay...

Trick to bend paypal to your advantage:

If you want to bypass their waiting game to get your money instantly, go into the transaction that's being held and send the buyer a partial refund of $0.01, and in the comments just put like.. good buyer credit or something, it doesn't really matter.

After you do that, the funds will be unlocked and available for you to use :)

Woah, what? lol That's got to be some kind of a bug, yeah? Either way it's a great trick.

Thanks for the info...

I just tried this.. I sent a $1.00 refund to a buyer whose payment
is on hold...

After seeing the Refund transaction show up in my PP account
the Funds being held are still being held.

Maybe it takes a bit more time... I'll check later to see if there has
been a release of funds.

Yeah I've used this a few times and it works... hope it still works... :)

PayPal can take a few minutes though to update their system as usual...

Well I checked my PP account this morning and I'm sad to
say that this trick does not work for me...
The funds are still held by PayPal...:cryyy:

Perhaps they caught on to this practice and blocked its use.

This is just a guess, but I'm thinking it may only work if your account has zero funds that are not on hold? Do you currently have unallocated funds Jerry?

I wonder what could happen if international delivery takes let's say more than 25 days, and customer complains that order is not delivered after 21 days.

Does he/she ends up with money AND merchandise ?

Assuming shipment is delivered on 29th day.

Everything is made so Paypal/eBay/Amazon (ALL the same) have actually ZERO responsibility, and seller get screwed in case of ANY problem.
