[quote author=amkdeath link=1193790319/555#559 date=1203449910]dude, if TSA is going to pick on anyone, itl be me....

okay, your checking my luggage as I come back from a trip to Iran....

in the X-ray, you see some large metal barrels, and some other stuff. you realize that I am carrying powerful class 3B lasers....

You also realize that I have an Iranian passport...

I had my blu-rays in the little black project boxes wrapped up with electrical tape so they could easily dissect and see what was inside. That just made things worse. Not that they loved seeing the toggle and pushbutton switches either...

Oh, and the laptop in my suitcase tested positive for explosives. (yes, falsely, somehow)

I had to go through  3 separate TSA supervisors, the 3 cops they called, and the Bomb Assessment Officer.

Oh, and some gentlemen working for the FBI joint terror task force were waiting for me at the gate as I returned home.
I win.
:)

lolzmfao, yes, you do win, im iranian, and ive never had that happen....

must have had a lot of fun huh?

I can't wait for the second run of these, can't believe I let myself miss the first run.
They look great!

I just KNEW that when everyone saw how wonderful these looked that those that didnt' get one would be kickin themselves. Well now it's a reality. I should start taking orders for run 2, but I'm wanting to make sure that run 1 is finished first before jumping into run 2. As I've indicated a number of times there will be a few changes to run 2.

Anodized for sure!!!
Heatsink fins on the head.

I'm actually working with D3stroy now as a partner on the laser barrels and we've come up with some great ideas for the next runs. custom colors. grooves that run the length of the barrel with rubber grips inside them. Lots of exciting things coming for these. So stay tuned. run 2 is within a month I'm thinking. So save them pennies.

whats good is, you dont have to boast a huge mW rating for blurays for them to sell, blu-rays are blu-rays, ppl like them... so if you dont say how many mW, e-bay cant take it off can they....

something tells me im gonna be in for A LOT of barrels for run 2... ;) ;D

Cmount and TO-9 diodes are tougher than TO-18 ones... and they are certainly candidates for future runs!

What mw level do they take them down at? With the PS3-salvaged diodes, they're usually within the legal limit anyway, aren't they? 10mw or so?

they take down any lasers over 5mW.

whats funny is, they dont care untill your about to sell. I was 2 hours away from closing, and my senkat red had just broken the reserve price. 30 mins later it was taken down :'(

but heck, now I have another laser to play with....

I sell a lot of high powered lasers on ebay. You just need to word it as a module for incoporation into your own design. You just happen to be sending along a method that can be used (pointer.)

what? I didnt get the last part...

yea, that is a good idea, I tried the "used for light shows" and "laser threapy" and like listed 10 things related to lasers and stuff... but it didnt work... mabe the half a page on how you can severely injure yourself didnt help either....
