GB: 473nm diode information / giveaway

I had a dream where I was able to fix my OMNI 532 PSU :p

These 100V caps are scaring the laserist out of me...

Unplug it and short them with a resistor until they measure 0v. Perfectly safe!

I had a scare the other day with a rail on my PSU being stuck at 30V .75A. I opened it up and it turnes out that a ribbon cable came loose during my move. That second when I turned it on and turned the dial and nothing happened really sucked XD

Anyway, I can't freaking wait until the drawing. I know with my luck that I will never win but there is still a tiny shred of hope :P

I hate my shred of hope. It is like a thorn. Constantly pricking me.

We don't really have enough data to say either way bro. If we tested one or two more diodes then we could take a guess. Even then at this prototype/engineering sample level its likely that any later production could be drastically different. It could even vary between batches done at the same time. The technology in this diode is far from perfected.

In reply to ARG.

Seems everything we try to check isn't a problem. MOSFETS were fine, bridge rectifier that had wires burnt to a crisp attached to it, fine. I assume the wire was a problem, but why it happened...who knows.

Best I could do. D3100 didn't have the same control scheme as what I'm used to in the D5000, so I couldn't optimize photo quality.

The bottom picture better shows the small difference is hue, the diode is more in the green spectrum, so appears more aqua-marine is color.

Couldn't get any of the separate beams with a diffraction grating, not enough power for the camera to pick up and I couldn't find shutter speed control.

My stomach goes into a state of giddy unrest everytime I get an update from this thread. Ahhhh
