GB: 2$ copper modules ALL SIZES CLOSED

yeah it's good to make different tests to at least get some more accurate results that it is indeed mostly copper.

We already knew that the standard Aixiz Modules were made
of Nickel plated Brass and Wannaburn had done some Copper
plating tests on some.

So what's your point....

BTW... you are not obliged to go through with his GB if you
don't feel completely comfortable with it or what we will actually
end up with.
I"m sure there are a few other late comer members that would
gladly take over your GB investment...;)

Jerry

With all due respect, but if it weren't for about three of the "whiners" these would have very likely arrived in C36000 free cutting brass with a thermal conductivity of 116W/(m*K) or Aluminum bronze with even worse thermal conductivity.

;)

Haha there you go again with your thermal properties again. If these would have arrived brass, I would have been filing a PayPal dispute. Plain and simple.

That's why I wanted to make sure everybody had full trust in AnthoT to take good care of us.

Who knows? He could still pull a Steviedezie and up and leave couldn't he? I'm sure it's gonna take more than 45 days from my payment before these modules are at my door.

It just sounded like 3 pages of bitchin and moanin. That is all.

Edit: dethlore- ill sell you half of my modules if you would like.

I have a small lab, so ill test for high amounts of copper with some H2SO4 and maybe some HNO3

I highly doubt that.... I personally know that someone
could reach out and touch him...:eg:

I have 100% confidence in AnthoT....;)

I know Jerry, I'm just being hypothetical. I sincerely had 110% confidence in Steven Do also. And then he got us :(

But once again I trust anthony to get us what we want (copper) and that he will handle this GB swimmingly!

I've got this handled don't worry :) I've told everyone already and the modules are on their way. JakeGT you will likely get yours in less then 45 days as they are going to DTR for your order. So if you must open a dispute you can.
All Canadian and US orders will likely recieve theirs in about a week after me and DTR get them, international really varies depending where you are

And how would you have done that? How would you have been able to discern brass from any other alloy? I guess you would have had to rely on others to do the testing....

That's why I wanted to make sure everybody had full trust in AnthoT to take good care of us.

I also have every faith in AnthoT and I actually admire his patience! BUT if he hasnt got any way to test the material, he has to rely on what the manufacturer says and we are all none the wiser.

It just sounded like 3 pages of bitchin and moanin. That is all.

Last time I checked we were discussing methods to test the material. I wouldnt have classed that as "bitchin"...

Anyway AnthoT is going to run some tests now so thats great.

^^ I'm sure jakegt is plenty competent enough to tell brass from copper.

When brass is not polished it has a yellowish type of colour, when C1100 is not polished it looks pinkish red I believe, but when it's polished it's a more golden look for either material.

I'll be testing
-density
-electrical conductivity
-ill etch one to see how much copper gets etched off and see if the etchant turns blue ish
- ill blow torch one to see if it turns green

If anyone would like any other tests done I can do so :D

can they survive atmospheric entry from the outer space?

just joking :)

but in all seriousness... I really like your attitude towards all this, though many concerns are valid, but its kinda nuts pages upon pages of all this testing discussion :)

can they survive atmospheric entry from the outer space

 I thought you were serious there for a second and I was like how the hell am I gonna do that

Then I read the rest of your post :D

can they survive atmospheric entry from the outer space?

They better,
I plan on using these in my Spartan Lasers.
And Master Chief has been known to attempt orbital jumps.

You said:

At $2.00 per module I'm not worried about the copper makeup.
They and the aluminum modules should still be superior to the run of the mill Aixiz modules..

My point was that I don't see how you think that they would be better than "run of the mill Aixiz" modules if they had ended up being brass or bronze. At that point in the thread, there was still concern that they might be a 60-115 W/m*k material.

Just to reiterate, I trust that Anthony has sorted it out and I trust that he has got C11000 copper coming.

I just didn't see how you figured they would be superior to the Aixiz modules when at that point we didn't even know what they were going to be made of at all.

BTW... you are not obliged to go through with his GB if you don't feel completely comfortable with it or what we will actually end up with.

A. I have already paid in full for my modules.

B. My goal was to help ensure that we did not have that issue. I did not want Anthony to be in a situation where he had several thousand dollars of products that he had to figure out how to make right. My hundred bucks isn't so big in the scheme of things, but I was trying to help make sure that Anthony didn't end up with a large burden trying to fix other people's orders.

Had it not been for the questions and efforts of several members of the forum working with Anthony just before ordering, it seems almost certain that is what would have happened.

I"m sure there are a few other late comer members that would gladly take over your GB investment...;)

I doubt it. Had they arrived as Aluminum Bronze with a thermal conductivity of ~70 W/m*k I can't imagine people lining up to buy them.

Fortunately, thanks to AnthoT and several members on the forum who had knowledge in the thermal characteristics of copper alloys combined with knowledge of dealing with Chinese export companies we seem to have it sorted out to get a very highly thermally conductive pure copper, some testing procedures planned and a great price on some copper modules that will help us keep up with the growing demands of the higher power LEDs available in our hobby.
