as it comes the key only is removable in the off position . Most so far want to be able to remove the key in both positions-- yours will be altered--n/p

dont have time to read through all these posts so i dont know if this was asked but would it be possible to just get the ti host with no laser parts?
id be interested in 2 if so.

hmm. I'm leaning towards the 200-250mw... Average power 239mW, but, from what I understand, Hak, Jet: these have been overspec?

By the way, I *DO* want the key and interlock and safety features... I do NOT mind if the key has to remain in when on. I'd prefer it in fact.
I know I'm like the only person around who actually -likes- having these being FDA compliant... Maybe it's my pilot half kicking my own ass.

By the way, Gray/JetL: I'd also love to see more 473 action. 445 is awesome, but I want to get my hands on another powerful 473 to be honest... So if you did that, I'd be there.

... Avery needs to like... let us expand signatures to 4096 characters instead of 2048. c_c ...

What a lot of us are going is getting the switch set up so that the key can be removed in both the on an off position. The other option is to have the only removable in the off position. I believe all of them will still have all the safety features,

Yeah, Full FDA compliant actually requires nonremovable key. (so that it can't be left 'unlocked'.)

I don't want to interfere with anyone else who wants it removable, so I guess I'd just like to know if me getting the PL-C 200-250mW without it being 'altered' would hurt the GB any.

And what I should expect that to actually output.. I kow the listing says 239avg... But I've also heard of them being overspec. I know I can't count on that but i'm just wondering what other folks have seen.

There are some things about 473nm that cannot be had in 445nm.

Although they're both blue, 445nm is much closer to violet, especially when compared with a 473nm or 488nm laser. It also appears to have a violet beam and haze around the spot.

473nm also has beam specs due to the DPSS process, with very low divergence and a perfectly Gaussian TEM00 beam, unlike 445nm with a horrible multimode beam with up to 5mRad divergence on the fast axis.

Although 445nm is blue enough to be considered blue, it will never replace 473nm.

I don't think Diode lasers can all replace DPSS lasers in the future since DPSS promises a much better beam quality and divergence.

I get your point and it's no problem to keep all safety features in tact though altering the nonremovable stable of the key seems more user friendly. No problem and as long as you specify it to Hakzaw1 about this. I guess over spec is not a problem. When the GB units are confirmed, we would prepare the crystal sets first and have all assembled when the new hosts come.

Speaking of 473nm, i wonder how powerful you hope it to be and to guarantee a decent duty cycle and heat dissipation, we might not make it beyond 30mw or 50mw.

Gray may not be able to quote you a price as they afaik are prolly still in the development stage. He may send you one for testing.. so thata would be a great price indeed.

Its looking like from the PMs responded to this GB will have 8 or 9 takers and I am quite happy with that, being my first big GB. I imagine GB #2 will make the max of 20 very quickly and btw the ones who went in o GB#! will have priority.

special requests for your laser are n/p. But please let us know asap. same with your preference of eye ware--unless otherwise requested all lasers will come as is on the key locks and all will get the nice glasses style as opposed to the goggles type.

Funds need to be sent TODAY. This GB has been up for a long time so please dont keep the rest of us waiting ya'll---hak

still scratching my head over those two incidents and am amased to how generous Gray is being to them. Especially the 15yr old with the cousin who defintely rides the 'little' school bus. Thus the reason most review samples only go out to those with some experience under thier belts--

Indeed, I'm an incredibly fair and honest guy. Jet Lasers' patience and maturity in handling those incidents definitely shows just how far they're willing to go to keep their customers happy, which is something rarely seen these days in any market. :yh:

Ok, cool, I think I'm gonna be in for a 200-250 then; so the limit for funds has been extended a bit because of the holiday?

Honestly, that'd be fine. I just want another well-built 473. 30-50mW would be fine, so long as I could get it in PL-C form factor.

But I'm guessing that's somethign to tackle for GB#2...
