I'm imagining it would be hollow, hold a fuse, making it easy to insert the fuse and keeping
the hole clean. I'll be damned if I know what it's called, I'm not so much into cannons.:thinking:
Or maybe just some cleaner pin.

Hint on mine: the thing is lined all around and is only open on the side you see
in the picture.

Anslem ---- I'll give it to you! It's called a friction fuse. Inserted into a loaded cannon, a tether was connected to the ring. Give it a good pull and --- BOOM !!

This particular one is from my truck. You can find them in some cars though.
