Game: Guess the mystery object !

Pretty easy, but guess what these items are. Bonus points if you can point out the light source(s?)

Nope, although there is another, non-name-brand version of these that ARE ccfl based.

Clue: components of a much larger light assembly. They are sitting very roughly how they are arranged in the final light assembly, however they are usually vertical with respect to the ground.

Looks like light pipes to me, with fiber optic inputs, light source being the thing at the back.

Car lights? Are they florescent? How big are they and how big is the final assembly?

I don't know who to give it to, you both are right, but Things was just a bit righter, and found the lightsource

They are decorational lightpipes from a car headlight, an older ZKW BMW headlamp, originally fed by a halogen bulb inside an ellipsoidal reflector focused at a bundle of fiber ~1/4" in diameter, which is then split out to two fiber bundles that feed the molded plastic lightpipes, which have grooves molded into the back to diffuse light forward. You see these as the more yellow-y "angel eyes" on BMWs.

Lit using my first P60 flashlight, an ultrafire C1 w/ XR-E R2
