Jayrob - would you be able to turn a different type of heatsink as well ? I am talking about sending a light to you to see if you could make one - what do you think ?

Well now, first let me say that for obvious reasons, I wouldn't want to have lots of people requesting this. A drawing of the heatsink, with specific measurements is better.

That said, I would be happy to take a look at what you have there Greg. (Can't say no to Senkat) We just did a trade, and he had shipped the Kenom barrel to me before I even got a chance to package up his stuff! ;D
I asked him if he had 4 or 5 extra 'finger grip' focus rings for the AixiZ modules...and that I would pay for them. He threw 20 at me! For FREE.

Send it on over Greg. We can talk about what your looking for in it. I'll see if I can make it work. By the way, I have found that the best type of hosts for a big heatsink, are the ones that can come apart from the very top. Like the MXDL's that I currently make them for.

Ones that have a retaining ring as a final piece to hold the heatsink in place. You have to be able to complete the laser, without twisting the wires inside. Hopefully the host you have in mind, is similar...

wrong. Mine increase the MW by around 50 when compared to acrylic.

amk, check this graph from drlava:

His comparison was done with an AixiZ acrylic lens (with the plastic cut away).

This is in harmony with the comparisons that I have made with two different AixiZ glass lenses. Here is where the difference may be...

I did a comparison of two AixiZ acrylic lenses. One without the plastic cut away, and one with the plastic cut away. Check this post:

Now for the million dollar question...Did you have the plastic cut away on your acrylic lens when you did your comparison?

Jay, i just wanted you to know that i just FINALLY got my first MXDL done and it is AWESOME! burning plastic bags already!! ha.. your heatsink works great! (the issue with that first attempt was in fact that i did bend the diodes and killed them :( but i took your advice and i even drilled out the adapters a bit and got a really nice fit )

its not a good pic but it'll have to do :)

hey jay im probably gonna need another br heatsink. i seem to have lost a box with a lot of components and some heatsinks in it...around a hundred bucks down the drain.. ill pm u for ur payment info when i get the money but i got a fe bills to take care of first... ::)

Got it today (Sat), very nice! I don't have the flashlight yet to make up the finished item, but hopefully soon.
