Hey Jayrob!

Do I still have any credit in your "bank"? I need a blue Meredith and a red Meredith. Let me know how much $ to send.

Peace,
dave

Would love to have one of these, are the prices still the same. ;D

How much for GREEN.

So far, the price is the same. $20 dollars plus shipping.

For others to know...
I want to post this picture from time to time, to remind everybody that there are now three different MXDL hosts, that I am making heatsinks for. Each build, has a different host, heatsink, battery supply, and driver.

1. 4171 - ($23 plus shipping) The MXDL that takes 2 X 3.6 volt rechargeable batteries for the high powered red diodes: (using a FlexDrive, with 3.0 volt batteries, this host is also great for a blu-ray build. As are the other hosts using the FlexDrive!)
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4171

2. 3405 - ($23 plus shipping) The MXDL that takes 3 X AAA size (3.6 volt 10440 batteries for the blu-ray build/DDL driver):
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3405

3. 5387 – ($25 plus shipping) The ‘side button’ MXDL that takes 3 X AAA size batteries:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5387
If DX is out of the 5387 host, use the 5095 host. It is the exact same for this build:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5095

The differences in these first two heatsinks, can barely be seen visually. But they are machined slightly differently for the fit into their respective MXDL hosts. Either style, can be fit for an AixiZ module, or a Meredith module.

In this picture, I have marked the heatsinks.

4171-A stands for 'DX SKU 4171 fit for AixiZ'.

3405-A stands for 'DX SKU 3405 fit for AixiZ'.

Note: Since we now have the FlexDrives, either host can be used for a Red, or a blu-ray build. So I will be marking the heatsinks with the DX SKU number of the host.

Just to let everybody know this. There would be no misunderstanding on your order, if you said 'I would like a 4171 - Meredith, and a 3405 - AixiZ'.

Here’s the new one:
(this one is $25 plus shipping)

Here's my tutorial on the build:

I am going to keep posting this picture from time to time, so that new ones will understand...
Jay

P.S. Once again, besides the MXDL host & heatsink being different for these builds, the battery configuration will differ, depending on which driver you will be using...

That was more generous than I anticipated. Thanks. Now don't let me do that again!

I meen is the price the same for the assembled laser.?

Oh...yes, still the same so far. There are a couple of options on the build. Check here:
http://www.sonic.net/~jayrob/MXDL/

On that page, there are links to testimonials and reviews! Scroll down and there is a picture of one of my MXDL builds that I have ready to ship. It is very steady at 247mW's.

Or, just let me know your choices, and I can build one up the way you want it! ;)

Do you build these with GREEN lasers? If so whats the price diff?

I think I can answer that for Jayrob . . . No.

Jayrob builds monster burning reds of better than professional quality. You can ask the people who own his lasers. They are in this group. He may branch out into blu-rays, but that's not happening yet (is it?) ;)

Peace,
dave

Sorry, just building the Red burners (DVD open can diodes)

I don't know of anybody that can build a DIY green laser. Nova makes a quality pointer sized green laser in there 'X-series':

I plan on offering a couple of blu-rays using the Kenom barrel/Lava driver/803-T combination set at 90mA's for about 80mW's to 100mW's:

I think the price will be $295 plus shipping.
Jay

P.S. Dave, you read my mind! I never mentioned it before now...

WELL Then red will have to do. and from what I've read you make quality lasers, so I am looking forward to getting my order in. ;D

That simply means that you do not have a mail client installed on your PC - like MS Outlook, etc....if it were, it would automatically pop up a new email message, with the "to" part already filled in :) If you use G-mail, and you have MS Outlook installed, you CAN configure it to work with Gmail, or most other "webbie" email programs.

Jayrob - sorry for the threadjack ! I am going to bed now (dang it got late somehow...) before I start assisting people with Active directory clusters.... LOL !
