FS: Kenometer Laser power meter *CLOSED*

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

I just realized I REALLY need an LPM and I'm definitely going need one in the future. PM sent hope there is still one left. :-/

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

LOL there is indeed the one remaining.

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

Ok apparently my post was deleted. Again, I've recieved some of the components and have started assembly of all these meters.

Here's a picture.

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

Still waiting on the displays though. I've had issues finding ones that are compatible with these. The power source and the readin source must share a common ground and most that I've found won't do this.

Holy thermopile-up, Batman!  :o :D

Looking good - thanks for keeping us posted - very cool of you  8-)

But please.... PLEASE don't take on any more orders.... we don't need any more VIP members going through some kind of DIYer's-B.O.S. (... burn-out syndrome)  :P  ;)

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

I can always purchase more components to make more meters.

On another note, I got half & 1/2 of the displays today. Now to test to see if they can share the common ground.

What happened to the ones you were using up 'till now, did that particular company run out of stock...?

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

apparently they changed designs. I ordered the same ones as the previous ones and they said on them clear as a bell cannot share common ground. So now I've got a few displays here that I can only power with a seperate 9v battery. I inquired to them and he tried to sell me a dc/dc converter isolater to allow me to run it on the same power source as the board for an additional $10 each.

Argh. what were they thinking, right...  ::)

This ah, dc/dc cvt isolator, does it have any negative side effects to your general design, or is it just the $10 that's the hindrance?

Re: FS: Kenometer $250

Well, I've taken the chance on a few others to see if they are also needing the additional isolator to make them compatible and even emailed a couple of ebay retailers have had one + reply and 3 -.  If I can't find the displays I need, then I will purchase the isolator.  Until then it's business as usual.

On another note, I've started the assembly of all of these meters and after a long hard day in the sun drawing pictures of a lake (art class homework), decided it was time *(regardless of it being easter) to work on these meters since the last components I needed for most of these arrived on friday. (not all of them since I'm still testing displays.) Here is what I've accomplished so far.

BTW. Do you like the painted heads or do you like them buffed up and matte'? I prefer the matte look but with those scratches and stuff on them, I figured it would look better to have them painted. What do you think?

Wow, never thought I'd be so excited simply looking at pics of electronic components *looks over shoulder to make sure GF isn't reading this...*  :D Once again Ken, thanks for keeping us up to date (not to mention, during Easter!) - this may be the cheapest part of the process for you but is of great value to us  8-)

As for the paintjob, I'd like mine to match my '95 Stang's Laser Red... (j/k - but n/j about the color name, it really is "Laser" red  :P)

I can only speak for myself, but I think painting it (matte?) black would be cool, at least for the ones where the scratches are prominent on the facing surface.
