FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

Awesome:D

How will pricing be on these?

Oh yeh, I will contact you over the weekend to confirm the parts order :) Thanks alot for helping me, it means alot.

Can't you ask Avery or Dave to remove those tags? Whoever has a crush on Jake just stop posting it all over peoples threads OK?

EDIT: do these have a pot on em?

Yea, im interested in a pricing ballpark figure as well, for the jibboost.

As far as I understand, it will be a fixed output of 1.8A. I really wish it would have a pot as well, but size is an issue. ;)

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

These Look Awesome. Cant wait to see them up for sale.

Its exactly what we needed for single cell builds.

I think it will be very simple if you want a different currant setting. A simple Resistor swap And your good to go.

But iam sure He will have more option later on.:)

Our Goal was really to hut ~1.8A +/- with a single cell.

Before this we would have to buy 2 flex drivers for a price of ~$50 to achieve this.

So keep that in mind price wise.:D

So This is the next best thing IMO. Not to mention this driver has so much more potential.

Now i got to see what my first build with one is going to be.:D Its going to be a special one.

Man Iam excited.

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

Wow looks like I was too slow, my parts are still on order and no pcb fabricated yet. Dang... you win ;) However, that picture is kinda confusing, your getting 1.8A but at what votlage? and whats your input voltage?

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

Jib has been working on his boost driver for quite a while now. :)

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

Target price is $21 shipped. I will probably offer a 500mA version for 12x BR builds and 2.8 for Cree XML LED builds. I have not tested 2.8A yet as there is no way my PSU can provide that much current which leads to this question:

However, that picture is kinda confusing, your getting 1.8A but at what votlage? and whats your input voltage?

The PSU is set to 4.2V and is rated for 3A (2.89A showing on the display). Dummy load is ~4V. If I set any less on the input voltage the driver wants more current and the PSU can not supply it. I plan on testing with a IMR 26650 this weekend as it can provide more than 10A. I also have my proto driver in a XML drop-in run by 18650 Low R cell for torture testing.

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

Can these be used for 2-2.5 volt IR lasers? Could it be modified to output less voltage? Or is that solved by providing a lower voltage source to the driver?

Thanks,

AAlasers

If you are referring to the linear drivers, since they are constant current they will provide whatever voltage the diode needs. You could probably run a IR on one cell with the LM1117 driver.

If you are referring to the boost driver ... no. Its only designed to boost voltage and does not have continuous ground. What you would need a buck driver.

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

If this works with 12X 405nm I will take one at 500mA. PM me your paypal if they are available.

I only ask because you in the specs you list a 4V load and 12x is 6V.

Thanks

I made the 500mA specifically for 12x builds :)

Just use the link in the OP to get to my PP buttons when you are ready to buy.

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

It appears to be sold out at the moment - Is this the case? And on your order page it says $9, but since I am in Canada, it should be $10. How can this be rectified?

Thanks,

AAlasers

I am indeed out for the moment ... I have parts but I wont have time to build them until the weekend. When they are back in stock ill post here. And don't worry about the extra for international shipping, Ive stopped collecting it since I put in the PP buttons.

Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

Paypal sent. So your out of stock until after the weekend? I didnt have time to read through 23 pages of posts. Ive been on my android.

Only the 1.3-1.6A drivers are out of stock, I try to keep the OP updated with stock status. The PP buttons are set up so you can't buy if its out of stock. :)

Your 500mA will ship in the AM.
