FS: Jibs Linear Drivers

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

hey jib good to know these are back in stock. Are the 1.8A versions done as well?

Have PCB's, waiting on parts and time to build them. Should have them up by next Saturday at the latest.

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

I would like to have two of your 1.3A drivers, so PM sent!!!

I have needed these for a while...

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Orders shipped: Wolfman29, ZapU, netmon, xivlia, bh, slayer650, and Daguin.

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Mine couldn't have just been shipped today... I *got* mine today! :O

Yeah a few shipped Saturday ... but dang, how the heck did yours make it in what is basically 1 day. I dont think I could get faster delivery in my own town ... sheeez.

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

if you want STRICT 1.3a tell Jib cause he has to modify them a bit.... I think you should point that out Jib and maybe tell them how to set it strict if its possible by just removing a resistor or something :D

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Well good to know for other people not too much for you since you've already purchased your driver :p

Jib u got any solutions to decrease ma? well it isnt really needed since 1.6a is more than fine for a 445nm a-140 diode with good heatsinking...

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

These are set to the max the IC can do, in my test this is 1.3A without heatsinking and 1.5-1.6 with GOOD heatsinking.

So yes it is possible to have 1.5A initially, especially if you are feeding it more than 8V with a source that can provide the current and especially if you got a freak IC.

If you remove one of the resistors you will limit it to 1.25A.

All the info is in this thread .... all you need to do is read.

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

Oh... I could have sworn I was told that it is 1.3A fixed -.- Hope that's not what killed my 445 -.-

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

445's can take more than 1.8A. ESD is the big diode killer.

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

On the other thread, I mentioned a spike I noticed on my driver too. Not sure - honest question, but my testload read off a roughly 3.2A spike on start-up, even after removal of one of those resistors.

Could that kill a diode? (Because my diode was functional on my LM317, pot-adjustable labby driver.)

A msec 3.2A pulse from inrush current should not kill this diode, a 1000V+ usec transient will. That is why with your driver it did not burn out even though you have the same spike. But so much inrush current to the driver worries me ... what is your power source?

Have you scoped the spike? Do you know the duration?

Did you discharge the output cap by shorting the LD+/- together after running the test load?

Re: FS: LM1117 Linear Driver - 1.3A Fixed

My power-source was two 14500 li-ions. I did *not* scope the spike because I don't have an oscilloscope, but it was visible on my DMM, so probably about 1/20th of a second or so, no shorter. And yes - I shorted the LD+/-, but this occured on my test-load, also =p
