i too can not understand why usa got them before europe, and there is no customs from slovenia to italy and uk (in our cases)!!!!dont know whaqt happened but if this can help i got an email from igor saying "you (me) should receive your laser very soon!!"so i believe u r gonna receive your soon too!!so i hope... :-?

what happened is that Igor first concentrated on the one U.S. multipack so that he could get most of the orders done in one go. That and the fact that the U.S. shipment needs to get through Customs and then needs to be forwarded by Glenn to their respective receipients.

Thus I can clearly understand why he took care of the U.S. prior to the EU members, thinking to himself that the orders should all, in the end, arrive more or less at the same time. If you should get yours tomorrow - or the day after, then U.S. members will have received theirs 2-3 business days before us...

We can / will live with that, no...?

;)

Does anybody know how is situation with IgorT, did he managed to deal with his problems? Hope he will be back soon.
Where does he live, US?

He lives in Maribor.

Yes, we all miss his vital input in all areas of this community ... I can't wait 'till the 405nm AR-coated Glass GB is a done-deal so that things will get back to normal... (Igor's concept of normality, that is ;))

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

I have been trying to contact him via the method I normally do, but I just got a message from him through another method of communication. I asked him how his search is and I'm sure I'll get a response soon.

Do you communicate with smoke like redskins ;)
Do you mean you call him instead of mailing him?
Anyone please inform us whenever you hear any news about Igor.
Be impatient for him to solve his problem as much as your Bluray!

As far as i remember, Igor said that he is using a better shipping service to ship the multipack to Glenn in U.S., one thing i don't understand is why Igor didn't use the same shipping service to send ppl in other countries, although it will cost more, i think most ppl wouldn't mind paying a bit extra to get the laser faster, right? :-? :-? :-?

I think my bluray has a broken diode window :(. It must have happened during shipping. Therefore I am trying a little harder to contact him.

We communicate with 700 watt green lasers from across the world.

Why do you think this? What is the laser doing?

I assume it is the diode window. At first I hoped it was a scratch on the lens which I could easily replace. After removing the lens and shining it at my cieling, it makes this really odd design that doesn't happen with your kryton or my other phr. I'll take a picture in a bit, my D90 Battery is charging.

If you have the lens out, remove the batteries and look down into the window. Can you see anything?

If you slowly turn the laser while shining the light on a wall, does the "pattern" change?

If you tap it GENTLY while shining it on the wall, does the pattern change?

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

Aaargh! the tension is building up waiting for the little gem (it's coming, I know, I can feel the disturbance in the Force...) so I figured I'd tell you a funny little story that happened to me today:

So there I was, checking my mailbox five times a day, as usual during the past few weeks... Didn't have much hope, however -- tadaaaa! -- there is was, the little brown recycled-paper thingie notifying me I have a package to reclaim! Trembling with anticipation, I quickly went to the post office, which was closed for their lunch-break. Twenty-five unnerving minutes later, after taking the time to discuss the finer points of the weather with a lovely bunch of old ladies waiting for the PO to open in order to get their pensions, I was in front of the counter. Anxiously I gave the bored lady from the other side the puny piece of paper, and watched her get up and go searching for the package in the back of the room. Almost an eternity later, she returned holding what appeared to be a small, bubble-wrapped package. "External delivery" she said with a monotonous voice, and I quickly signed for it, my eyes turning into x-rays and trying to get through the envelope...

There it was! Holding it in my hands, the package seemed the right size. Feeling through the bubble-wrap, a small, tubular shape could be felt beneath. I opened it right there and there, almost tearing the paper away, and found...

... the nice flashlight I had ordered only five days ago from a shop in the UK. Almost the same size and weight, plus the needed batteries... it's a very nice flashlight by the way, very powerful, small, rugged and even programmable! The Ra Clicky -- hxxp://ralights.com/?id=Clicky in case you were wondering. Alas, still no laser :-/

But wait, there's more! I kept the Clicky with me during the day, and as the night lay it's dark wings over the city I decided to take a detour on the way home and stop in a nearby park to play around. I was having a good time with it, testing it's brightness and strobing a few stray dogs to keep them at bay, when I see something vaguely familiar... yes, there it is again, shining brightly in the night sky -- a high power green laser!  Someone's playing with it on the other side of the park, the light tauntingly reaching the trees in front of me.  :o *Sigh* I took a deep breath and called it a day...

So, is it here yet? :-P

P.S.: This package from the UK actually spent 4 (four) days total in transit, two of which were the week-end. Now that is fast!

I assume you want me to take out the batteries to make sure I don't blind myself, right? If so, done. Otherwise, the battery is on the opposite side of the aixiz and is not obstructing my view to the diode ;).

Nothing abnormal, but it's kinda dark and I don't want to shine light into it. Looks almost the same as the kryton.

The pattern does not change if I rotate or tap the laser. But if I rotate it, the pattern follows the rotation.

1: Shot taken in the dark, you can easily see the design it makes (it's actually quite beautiful in person). No lens:

2: Shot taken just now, you can still see the pattern, hasn't changed after rotation, tap, nothing as far as I can see. Using a (dirty) lens: (yellow represents the ripple effect it causes throughout the rest of the "dot")

3: Kryton with no lens:

Re: FS: >110mW PHR, >140mW 4x & >170mW 6x Blu-Rays

There is either some foreign substance on the diode window (hope for this one) or the crystal itself is showing damage.

I have seen this pattern many times as I've tortured a diode to death.

The irregularly shaped dark spot grows, the "ripples" become more pronounced, and the diode fails.   :'(

I have speculated that this process (the dark spots growing) is the reason that violet diodes loose output (mW) as they are beginning to fail.

If you can use a jeweler's loop or a good magnifying glass to look at the diode window (batteries removed), you should be able to see if there is something on the window.

Peace,
dave
