Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

Zoisite with ruby in Blu-ray The ruby spots light up more dramatically in real life views. If I had more time I would try some filter to tone down the blue the camera sees. Villageidiot is doing some good pics!

These are massage wands and considering the cut and polishing work, they were low cost. Each one was just under 85 mm long ~18 t0 21 mm dia. yes the red spots are real ruby, yet, they retail for about $50 ea.

So the entire rock lights up fom a small spot? Or are they bathed in an unfocused beam?

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

The focus is as wide as I can get from 3 ft. So bathed in an unfocused beam about sums it up.

Technically it is corundum. "Ruby" is reserved for gem quality red corundum. All other colors of gem quality corundum are called sapphire.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

I bought 2 stones a while I ago that I found was very cool when shining my blu-ray on them. Ofcourse its much brighter glow in real life.

I just wanted to share some pics of them.

The purple looking one is really bright red IRL, but you can always imagine ;D

Anyone can tell what they're called? I have no clue ;)

Nice pictures everyone! Thanks for sharing them! :)

You make me wish i remembered where my crystals are...

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

The effect sure is hard to capture on camera, isn't it guys? :o

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

Hey Hugh!

I got the tripods and clamps i saw in your review..

The quality is inconsistent, but when they work, they are great! They bring lasers to a whole new level of fun! ;)

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

eeeey. They are pretty good aren't they? The clamp could give a tighter fit but meh.

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

Btw, I bought 2 tripods and a clamp, one for camera, one for laser :D

Hope I can get some better pics now :P

Well, they could be a little better. The tripod screw for the clamp has imperfect threads, and the clamp is even worse..

I bought three tripods and four clamps, and had to try various combinations to find two tripods and clamps, that fit together perfectly.. The third clamp fit on another DX tripod - the small black one with bendy legs. It had a better screw.

But i still have one tripod and clamp, that don't fit together, until i find a new nut for the clamp.

On the other hand, when they work, they can even support my photon bazooka.

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

Man, some luck you've been having with DX. My two fit together perfectly.

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

Yeah, but if you order many things from DX, the inconsistencies and low quality show very fast.

But i fixed that one.. I managed to remove the "nut" from the clip, and glued a normal nut in there. Now it works like it should, so i have four functional tripods..

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

A little confused. One diode inside?or several diode ?I hope it's not LED.Do you think CNI laser
GLP-405 60mW is one diode inside?
I just got their prices
60mW $1000.00
20mW $380.00

What do you think this price?

Re: FS: >110mW Blu-Rays - available

On the shore of Big Bear lake, with the IgorT laser set for wide beam, last night I found 15 orange glowing rocks in as many minutes.   Great fun and a great laser!  other folks were impressed too!
