Did you all sleep through your macro-economics classes?

Four separate inquiries to the seller = high consumer demand = higher prices and less cooperation from the seller

One single inquiry = low consumer demand = lower prices and more cooperation from the seller

Y'all need to get together, cooperate, and fly under a single flag.

Do it for cost alone, as a service to the community, and you will get more orders.  You need at least 50, right?

4 (different GB's) x 15 (orders from each) = 60 = a successful GB - - - - Simple, eh?

And I only got "C's" in my math classes  :P

Peace,
dave

i will wait for 1) igort's results and 2) for a GB offer that will look likely to happen. with that low demand and 4 GBs, none of them seem likely to succeed. i will rather wait another month and then have verified diodes for sure..
come on, make one GB out of those, instead of making the situation with these suppliers even worse! :-)

i think we all should stop are 6x GB and wait a while be for buying so the price can go down again,

what makes it even funnier is that im pretty sure all the 6x gb's are using the same supplier.... :-X

I'm going to start a 6x GB! ;)

But seriously, with 4 GBs going on at once we know that they are for profit, so technically they aren't group buys. Those threads should be in the B/S/T section.

I don't know the motives of all the players - I think not all are just for profit - but agree, too many GB's are not Group buys. As has been said before (by me and others), a Group Buy is supposed to be where ALL interested LPF members GROUP their purchases to maximize purchasing leverage.

Maybe the LPF members who do GB's should take turns or something, for big-ticket (relatively) items like the 6X sleds. The way it is now, they're competing with one another - great Free Enterprise, but GB's are supposed to be our little group's Bypass of the Free Enterprise System's favoring the Big Guys.

This is where Pride gets laid aside and we truly look to the community an offer up a benefit to everyone. Seems jake21 has already set aside his and humbly bowed out to allow one unified effort to be made instead of multiple little efforts.

I applaud you jake. You've in the past made some decisions that we not necessarily one's I would have made. You make me proud now to see some growth. ;)

thanks kenom, how ever we go about this is fine with me ill step back if my price is higher than others, i all ready ordered 50 6x sleds for people so i no my supplier has them and i only need 40-50 sleds to place an order, i no some needs 100 orders :o what i think we should do is not have any GB in till they drop the price to where it was, bc they no we want these puppys bad [smiley=evil.gif] [smiley=evil.gif]

Well I scrapped mines and happytomatos , we agreed there was no need for 4 GBs for the same thing. And there is little interest also because of this. And it's after Christmas so less people have money to spend.

We should end all the other GBs and keep the one who has most interest !

you guys have my respect, for cancelling your groupbuys! it surely took time and effort to be able to start a GB. this clearly shows that you care more for us all lpf-people than for some potential dollars. thank you. it was the right decision, to reach our all goal to play with affordable 6x diodes! :-)
