The mounting for these flat diodes is more difficult,
but the results will be worth it with the latest Red diodes.
The easiest mount is to leave the diode in the aluminum housing and adapt it to the Aixiz housing for lens mounting.
I have found some manufacturers charts showing long term operation @ 600 ma for 500 hours.
Power Input = 3 Volts x 600ma = 1.8 Watts
At a reasonable efficiency of 25%, that would = 450mw of output power.
That is the ultimate goal.
