I wanted to wait until I was completly finished with my build before posting it. A lot of waiting on things and having the regular calls of life to nswer. So here is my 1W 445nm in a C-6 host.

Typical C-6 from SL along with heatsink and 1.25 amp liner driver installed in pill. A 1w 445nm diode from DTR, lens and module from Axiz.

Pressing on the focal ring I made with my mini arbor press I made in tech school.

First beam shots down the stairs and hall. I freaked out a little because at first all it showed was a large blue blob on the wall. Focused the lens a few tims and, TAA-DA

Now I needed a tube extsion for 2 18650 batteries to get a better beam. So I made one of those as well.

Much brighter beam.

Thanks for checking it out.

Wow very nice build I like the extension tube you should offer them for sale here I'm sure there are people out there who would like one :)

Have you thought about making custom hosts they would sell people are always looking for something different.

Very nice work :gj: +3

I believe the beam is the same brightness but when outside in total blackness it just seems brighter. You don't get the full "effect" of the beam indoors since the excess light is bouncing off of things such as the walls and illuminating the room, thus making the beam seem dimmer. None the less, nice job man! Congrats on your build and that extension tube is killer! You think you'd be able to possibly make more and sell them if there was a demand for them?

Nice work on the extension, so would adding another battery mean a brighter bean then?

Actually, its a linear driver, so the second battery would increase brightness, linear driver cant reach an m140s voltage off just one cell.

So what if you add a third battery? And my second question is, could you not just get a battery twice as powerful?

Im not sure what the max input voltage for his linear driver is, but it would probably cook it.

I dont know anywhere to get higher than 4.2V batteries that can output the current we need, and fit in handheld hosts. Lithium is the standard.

That's totally cool. You needed an extension tube so you made one. I wish I had that ability.

What do you mean by pressing on the focal ring? They are normally threaded on unless maybe you made your own? Or... did you press the little Aixiz one into a larger one that you made?

Either way, props on the build and more props on making your own components for it.

Thanks for the post guys.
I saved the program in the CNC so making them is easy once I set up the machine. But the problem is time. I'm just now getting around well from a broken foot and have a lot of things at the house to catch up on. I'm also working on a custom host. If I can squeeze in the time, I'll try to make some extenstion tubes but not sure how to go about selling them.
