Putting down my dog of 17 years today... feel like I've eat 'in a bucket of broken glass. :(

I'm sorry, man. It's just not worth crying if the problem can't be resolved.

Thats gotta suck you have my deepest sympathies.

Loosing any pet is bad, but after 17 years thats heartwrenching.

Sorry for you.

:(

I look forward to the day my little buddy goes as much as I do my own death

I'm sorry for you and your dog.
I have a 6 year old german shepherd that I love so much,
and I have great fear for that day in the future....

17 years is a respectable age for a dog.

Come on man, nobody (including pets) is going to live forever!
Do your life as best as you can and don't ruin your life thinking like that.

He didn't mean that he is always looking forward to that day.
Just that he feels about his dog's death (in the far far future, knock on wood)
in the same way he feels about his own.
Which I can relate too.

You have every bit of my sympathy my friend as I also lost my dog and friend when he was 17 we were the same age off by a month :( the day after i turned 17 he never woke up :((((( We grew up together :( it was one of the worst days of my life :( with much respect may your friend rest in peace

Take care

I used to fear death when I was a child. Not all the time, just sometimes when trying to fall asleep with a wandering mind. I don't think of nor worry about death anymore because it doesn't bother me so I will heed your advice.

This is not a debate , the OP is expressing his loss. Try to be a bit more sensitive or do not post at all.

Nono, I didn't lose any friends (lately)... I was referring to not looking forward to the day I'll part with my beloved dog-a-log. Thanks for your thoughts but all is well on my end of the spectrum, sorry to confuse you....

It's Danefex btw :)

I lost one of my dogs a month ago. He was 16 I think.
I loved him so much but I didn't even cried when I found him dead.
Why? Can I give him life again? No, so it's not worth crying, being sad or whatever.
The same thing happened when I lost my grandmother.

I'm not trying to argue with you, I was just giving some advice.
I feel really sorry for Jander.

Oh ok.

Jander , that is definitely sad news. One of my childhood dogs passed 4 months ago. He just licked me then went outside and laid down with his stomach on the floor , I went to pick him up and I felt his body go limp .
