Enchanted Beams Thread

Thanks guys! :thanks:

I couldn't capture ice falls as I wanted, because pictures seemed to over exposure from that point where beam hitted on ice. It was so cool looking IRL.

Snow, ice and water? With lasers? Such an awesome combination. I love the effects laser do here, still they are quite hard to capture AFAIK - high albedo of snow in combination with translucent structure makes bright areas around the dot. However once you get it, it is just awesome.
Thaks for the pics!
:thanks:

I feel need to get some instant laserpaintings more and more... Let's see. I need more fresh puffy snow here. There is just the old one, where the structure is not as I desire.

Yes, I'm gonna give another try today and be ready at the place when "blue hour" comes, to see if small amount natural light would help me out..

This image is a bit more like I hoped at ice falls, ice glimmer like crystal... :p

Great idea. Even a bit after sunset if the sky is clear can give you nice blue tint. Laser speckles give you kind of impressionism look (laser grain), however natural light makes it soft. The best is to take several photos during that time interval and select those of best balance. Definitely worth to work with natural light as well.

I did this with moonlight once and the artwork was very understandable for viewing, so this was one of the criteria why I selected it for my application to Canon Lowlight photo contest last year and guess what? I won the 1st prize - one of two awesome cameras in total 10 photos appreciated by their ambassadors. There was over 1400 photos in the contest, what made me feel very happy. Especially that it was first photo contest I ever applied. :)

Well..
Blue Hour was definitely helping me this time..
Also my timing was quite perfect, I was able to setup all gears right in time, no extra waiting for blue hour. Took few shots and headed back home. Overall 20 km trail today..

Now I will go to Hot Sauna and have few cold beers..

Awesome... That's what I'm talking about.

Did you try to focus mainly on the dot? With depth of field set accros the scene? I see the dots bit blurry, but maybe my mobile view enhances it too much (third pic from the bottom especially).

Very nice, Tero. I love the ice falls with your laser. I don't know if you have the ability to focus the output of your beam as it is an RGB laser. Sorry, but I can't rep you again just yet. :thanks:

Awesome shots----very nice

Very impressive! Such a beauty to look at. The ice forms give it such a “mystical” look. :gj:

WOW, Tero! Another gorgeous example of your amazing photographic (and hiking) skills. Thanks for finding the perfect time and place to share your beautiful home with us. A well deserved +Rep. Please Take Care.

Would have been nice to have the aurora, nice pics regardless, thanks.

Nice Arctic, stay warm up there. I need to be grabbing a few beam shots myself. You seem to be having all the fun. :)
