i thought 445's were all multimode??? what is this single mode? sorry for my ignorance.

There are single mode 445nm diodes, but they are lower power. ~75mW IIRC.

Yep they actually call them a 450nm diode. Avnet calls it a 460nm. :thinking:

Blord's graph does show some serious promise. With a G-2 you are around a 100mW @ the rated 130mA and he ran his all the way to 400mA although I would not suggest it unless you are trying to test it's durability and accept that it will probably have a significantly shorter life if not die on the spot.:eek:

Has anyone managed to make an Aixiz with a built in temperature crowbar yet?

A temp crowbar is a circuit that'll shut off the laser until it cools down to a certain point, and won't allow you to turn it on again until said point is reached.

What it has to do with this thread I'm clueless too. :p
