Don't buy from Stone Tek......

haha dude, wtf, i dont even care if hes sick of whatever, if so dont open the site, just shut it down, whats the point to have a shop and you cant even keep it running. Im not gonna talk trash here, all i know is, in this case, he cant run his buisness well! period! And you, im not whining shit or whatever, ive tried to find out whats goin on, but he just never fucking replied me, and what you want me to do, keep waiting? yeah right fuck that!

I think that firstly you need to calm down your language. Second, you need to get your panties out of a knot and stop snapping at people. And thirdly, you should show some consideration to others. It's not that good if you're mad at somebody when you don't know what is happening, but it's worse that you know that Greg is in the hospital and are still mad at him. How the hell is that his fault? You need to grow up and expand your vision, or else you will soon realize that the world doesn't revolve around you. How can you demand that somebody shuts down their site just b/c they were in the hospital for a while? How childish!

Can EVERYONE please calm down?

I know I'm adding to the end of this thread and, as such, it is STILL appearing at the top of the list but this is the sort of conversation that has recently lost a valuable member like Frothy Chimp. Remember him?!

All have strong views but this is just bickering. Fair enough; the lad had a bad experience, (no offense Superkai), and has voiced it. Most know Stonetek to be a good trader. The balance has been restored. Anything else is just winding people up! I think this thread is going nowhere so can we get on and talk about companies who might have good things to offer and we WANT to trade with?

Sorry, but I had to say it.

Actually, no, I wouldn't be pissed at Nike. Stuff takes time. Even 10 days is too quick to file a paypal dispute. Maybe some people don't the disputes that seriously, but 10 days and one e-mail is NOT enough before filing a dispute in my book. I understand he was frustrated, but 10 days without shipping and only 3 days without answering an e-mail is NOT bad, and is certainly not worthy of a paypal dispute.

And I read very well, and understand fully that it had been a week before he e-mailed. And that's fine, e-mailing to check the status is not a problem. My problem was sending one e-mail and then waiting only 3 days from that time to go all the way to a paypal dispute.

That's just too quick, either way. 10 days is a maximum of 8 business days, and likely as few as 6 business days. It's not unusual at all for any company to go past 6 or 8 business days before shipping.

So I stand by me opinion that OP needs to chill out and be patient. Oh, and I completely agree that he should NEVER order anything from DX, or any company in China for that matter.

Greg is a friend of many here so there is going to be a lot of people talking with tinted glasses. The fact is this: The kid paid money. Greg took the money. Kid waited a week and didn't get an email or anything telling him there would be a delay. Kid e-mailed Greg and waited 3 more days. No reply. Kid files a dispute and that same day Greg refunds the money.

I don't care how big or small Greg's business is. The fact is he is running a BUSINESS, small or otherwise. Greg failed the customer, not visa versa. Communication is key and Greg failed IN THIS INSTANCE. Everyone has one-off happenings. Every company fumbles the ball at some point. Greg fumbled the ball with this kid by not communicating what was going on with the order. If he was out of stock, it was his duty and responsibility to tell his customer that. If there was a personal matter that kept him occupied, he took other peoples' money so his duty is to let them know there was going to be a dely.

FFracer - Posted on Ryan's web site (rkcstr), he has been waiting on PCB boards to build more drivers. Until he gets them, Greg cannot ship them to you

I didn't see on Greg's site where it stated this. Where is the link from Greg's site (or that specific product) to Ryan's website...specifically the statement about waiting for PCB boards? A customer shouldn't have to go to a company's suppliers to find out why the order isn't being fulfilled. If Greg wants to run a business, then he should run it as a business and his responsibility is to keep his website up to date and maybe have a 'news' section that explains any developments that would keep him from fullfilling orders or delaying shipping.

As a business owner people like you are what makes a great day turn sour. No matter what some people just are not happy. Everybody wants everything ASAP.

In any case Greg was in the hospital. His wife was trying to take care of the site and she oversold some of the diodes. He should be shipping all orders by Friday.

Guys like you never get sick? Never have a personal matter? I bet you have more then most. I can tell by the way you whine instead of trying to identify the problem

There is a reason some businesses suceed and most fail. Communication. Greg's website looks like a company with more than an employee of one. For someone just purchasing from it and not knowing Greg, they have ever right to expect prompt shipping. Most people would settle for an email...communication. Your personal attacks are very childish. The OP has a valid point. Greg failed in communication.

See if he is running a business then he should have planned for sickness or some family emergency that would keep him out for days or weeks on end. A simple pre-made communication (e-mail or phone call or snail mail) his wife or a close friend could fire off to waiting customers would have been a start (and actually something they teach in most business courses).

We have to step back away from our Friendships and see that Greg is a businessman. He is running a company... tiny as it is... and with that comes responsibilities. Greg dropped the ball IN THIS CASE...but here is the big kicker...

IT IS A LEARNING EXPERIANCE FOR ALL INVOLVED...if they choose to learn from it. The OP learned that perhaps researching/asking on the forums what is going on...or waiting a bit longer would probably be a better thing to do in the future. Greg learns that if he wants his business to grow, he needs to learn to communicate better and have a backup plan in case something happens to him in the future.

Both sides win and everyone grows.

Up until I saw this Post from you... I was siding with you...
That has now changed....

I see that you have no empathy or sympathy for others....

If the cops come to my house and drag me away... whether I'm guilty
of some thing or not... and I can't get to my computer....

Or if I suffered a heart attack and the paramedics drag me to the
hospital for whatever... and I can't get to my computer...

I should be blamed... for not getting your "laser parts order" out on time...
I think not...................

If the only thing on this earth that is important to you is YOU...
then YOU need to grow up...

You are NOT the center of the Universe... even if your mommy says so...
Try thinking of others a bit...

And your swearing does not make you a big boy...:tsk:

I'm not going to touch on what you posted to the OP (or about the OP) except to say that I already pointed out that if Greg wants to run StoneTec as a real company, he needs to plan for situations like that. I already pointed out one example in how he can do that. This was a one-off situation that all parties can learn and grow from. Greg should take this as a learning experiance and set up a way to inform his customers of delays in the future if he can not personally do so. The OP should take from this e-mailing the people he bought from more (e-mail every other day after 5 days is my thought), waiting longer (10 business days max) before deciding to take the step from e-mailing to disputing, Letting the business know that if they do not reply in some form by day 11 he would be disputing the charge, and asking here on the forum about the company before disputing.

BTW: I do hope he is ok. Any hospital visit is a serious matter and I hope it wasn't life threatening.

seems like you are the one out of very few people that understand my point! thank you!

Hey bschott....

I understand what you are saying... and don't disagree 100%...

Greg has posted numerous times in the past that his LPF store is not a full time
business venture...
but a way to give back and help he LPF community in supplying
laser parts...

I don't know the details of what brought him to the Hospital.... but there are always
circumstances that you can't plan for or you think will never happen...

So the way I see it is ... Greg's really not on vacation and ignoring his customers...
and the "haha dude, wtf, i dont even care if hes sick of whatever" response from
"superkai" was a total lack of respect and offensive to me... as it should be to anyone
else with the least sense of compassion..

Oh, I didn't know that but then his website doesn't state it is a side business. Well that's cool for him to do and I can see NOW why people are coming down on the OP. In the OP's defense he didn't know this when he purchased from Greg and like myself, didn't know that Greg was doing this as just a hobbish kinda thing. My appologies if I stepped on any toes (yours or anyone elses)

So very true. I was laid up just last week for 4 days after I caught the regular flu. I just figured that in the future Greg could have a close friend (someone here on the forums he trusts) to update his site or contact customers if Greg is laid up again. That way this wouldn't be an issue in the future :) Just a suggestion for Greg.

So the way I see it is ... Greg's really not on vacation and ignoring his customers...

I missed that he didn't care if Greg was sick...must not have registered...I'm still a little under the weather recovering and the flu medication is giving me the 'medicine head' feeling. Anyway, that was a total lack of respect and offensive to me as well...and I don't know Greg like you or some of the others do. You are right, greg isn't ignoring his customers...he was in the hospital and unable to get to a computer. That's why I thought this would be a good experiance in the fact that it shows he may need a backup plan in case something like this happens again (god forbid...no sarcasm).

No... you didn't step on anyone's toes... someone else did...
I just thought you should know the whole story/info as I know it...

Yes... I agree...things could be prepared in case of emergencies...

But I remember a FEMA Hurricane fiasco... that also was supposed to
be prepared for... but didn't quite work out...

It is really hard to plan on something that you don't know of or think is
coming... I'm not looking for excuses...
I'm sure he wasn't prepared to go to the hospital... and I'm convinced
that Greg will fix this when he's back...
Hope you're feeling better soon...:)

People - surprisingly, especially young people it seems - have a lot to learn about the internet. Take c0ldshadow. Does anybody think he lives in a glass skyscraper with a receptionist behind a marble desk, just because he runs this forum? I guess some do, but hopefully most don't. Why would anyone apply different standards to a simple web shop? That software is as available and standardised as vBulletin. There's absolutely no reason to blindly assume that there is a warehouse with forklift driver or invoice office running SAP software involved at any point. Not everyone who does anything over the internet is an entrepeneur billionaire.

When I came here, I never assumed that any of the sellers here was relying on whatever business they did for their old age retirement plans; it is generally pretty obvious that they're just up a few levels of enthusiasm. Just because they're selling stuff, it doesn't mean they're businessmen.

Actually I was expecting some kind of a response...
But he only seems to respond to posts that are more or
less supporting his 1st post...

Or maybe he understood what we were trying to convey...

ya know there are a lot of times when greg overreacts and gets more aggressive than he needs to. I think it's mostly he's gotten fed up with dealing with stupid stuffand blows up when it occurs. Whatever the case, he's gotten a little too short fused and needs to develop some of the patience everyone is recommending . The perfect example is his instant banning of this guy from his site. Kneejerk. I'm not defending anyone or their actions nor am I particularly stating that anyone is wrong either.

From what I've read on the Forum in the past year... for Greg not
to respond to this Thread... only reinforces the notion that he could
be quite ill... I don't really know...
