I dont get it? whats the color picker for??? Is someone trying to lase snot with a excimer, or was that a advert for sleep apnea meds?

:yh:

Seriously, FDA now thinks its the young and the restless doing the AC illuminations, so why not come to a place the Y&R hang out????

BTW, laser laws are getting tougher, and not just feds. Florida can now get you for up to 5 years for misusing a pointer, and some states have published that a pointer dot is the same as a laser sight dot and the cops may feel accordingly threatened.

Pointers are hitting airplanes as much as 10 times a day, and the pilots are tired of it.

Brown nosing...You are kidding right??? I have never brown nosed anyone. ANYONE. What do I have to gain by kissing his ass? Point blank..we do need Steve. Reality...there is no one who has the knowledge he has. IMO the forum needs him and I was just trying to make sure he knew that. You guys are more stupid than I originally noted. You can only brown nose people who you can benefit from. Do I sell lasers? Do I need FDA info? Do I need him to build me a laser? Do I really give a flying F either way? No. Don't ever call me a kiss ass.

Why attack "kids." I dare say most of them on this forum know a lot more than you about lasers, and have actually contributed. [/off topic]

I'd hope so..seeing that I started in the hobby less than 6 months ago. Duh

We've adressed this topic several times. It's not possible to actually point a handheld laser into a plane's cabin and maintain it there, not even for 1/20 of a second, plus we're not considering divergence here. The problem started when idiotic kids directly pointed their fun lasers into the cabins while standing on the side of the landing track of an airport.

Your wrong, I've seen other video. Also, helicopter video. Not all planes are jet airliners at mach .7.
I've been on the edge of the laser safety business for a long time, and I've seen a lot of video and read a lot of reports.

May I refer you to the FAA simulator tests, where 5 to 50 uwatts was found to be annoying and far less then that detectable.

Have a read, do note the 50 nanowatt levels, mentioned:

http://www.faa.gov/library/reports/medical/oamtechreports/2000s/media/0409.pdf

and this is the public study they talk about, I'm almost sure there are others....

Okay, I'm sorry, how are 50 microwatts annoying to anybody if we talk about a short exposure? Maybe I'm missing here (50 nanowatts? C'mon, those shouldn't affect any sensoring system in a negative way)

Helicopters are a different topic, I never said anything about them, they fly much lower and slower, they can be easily reached by regular pointers.

let the list of controlled substances keep increasing. it's better for the criminals. you can't even but cold, allergy, asthma, sinus, or energy pills now without showing your drivers license and a signature. same goes for buying large quantity of matches, cleaning materials and other common household goods. pretty soon the list will become so long and petty that no one will pay attention to it and you will be able to buy almost anything from local companies. importing / exporting products from other countries will always have the strings associated with it. especially after sept 11 here in America. NOBODY wants another one of those. they're checking every pair of shoes for fuses.

If you search "laser pointer customs" this thread is near the top of the first page of results. Hopefully my example has been set and anyone who wishes to educate themselves before they import lasers will go forth accordingly. The US is quickly becoming the next Australia.

??? What does that mean??? I think you are reading me wrong Steve. They are saying I'm brown nosing you, and all I was saying is why would I be brown nosing you. I have no need for any of your info. I know how to make a laser, and I dont plan on selling them.
