Customer Service Experiences (jayrob & flaminpyro)

I'm standing right beside you Jay and I have had just about all the extra customer service from this guy I can take.
I think the hammer is about to fall

It's not my style to go arguing in the forum...

And I do not want to let this guy get under my skin, but this is really getting to me.

I want to hear what he expects I should have done.

He just keeps saying 'no customer support', 'no customer support'. But it is not true!

plexus, tell me what you expect for customer support from my kit I sold you?

This is wrong in so many ways...

Here you build your very first lasers, and in the process you lose a driver and a diode. (common)

Yet you have to blame others for your mistakes.

I want to know specifically what exactly you think I should have done for you...

Jay he was caught trying to get compensation for his error in the build.
I think he won't accept that you or Jeff are not companies that he can lie to, to get compensation... for example Walmart.
I have returned things I messed up but said it was already broken before :yabbem: but the only difference here is that you don't talk to anyone there at walmarts for them to speculate any other reason, which is what Plexus has already done here.

The ESD thing was total BS. Unless he hadn't mentioned that it was working for an hour. I wouldn't get upset ... no one here thinks any less of you by this.

According to one of his previous posts...

Plexus said:
I wasn't expecting jayrob and flamin to give me a free part (it would have been amazingly nice of them if they did). But i was expecting something in between that and "sorry for your loss, have a nice day". This is the point of my post (not that expected them to just give me a replacement, although in the Flamin case, he agreed the problem was the LD).

An offer to sell me a replacement at a discount would have been sufficient for me to walk away a happy customer. Most other companies build some kind of warranty loss into their profit models and I expect this of any retailer (and I have offered it myself when I was a retailer).

As I understand it you have already offered to replace his part free of charge even though it was his fault. From what I can tell that already meets and exceeds his own definition of "support", yet he is still not satisfied. At this point I think he just purposely trying to be troll and to damage your reps. But frankly he's taken it way too far for that to be successfull. Everyone sees his game now and knows that he is being completely unrealistic and argumentative.

There are new people who would believe his lies...

Plus he is claiming that he will post 'his experiences' on other forums.

I would like a specific answer on what he thinks I should do for him...

Jayrob. People with brains love you and your huge hands. I am confused as to what the hell he even did to mess it up.. Was he twisting the jacket on the pill and heatsink and the wires twisted and shorted? Did he strip the insulation off the wires? I am confused, his grammerless posts are hard to read...

I would still like to hear from plexus himself, just exactly what 'in his mind', would he think I should reasonably offer for customer support, with the kit he ordered from me...

It wasn't you. I sure as hell wouldn't sell him a kit again. I really don't know what you COULD even do for this situation.

PS: Psyched to get my host. Little nervous for assembly... I think it would be cool if you showed that specific assembly step in a video to help people though. I am not saying it is your fault because you didn't before, but it would be most helpful.

I doubt you will get a coherent answer, the original intent appear to be dissing/blackmailing you into handing out free parts. Having failed at that he is just weaving now.

This tread reflects on him not you. :)

DTR has video that he posted more than once. I'm sure you have seen it...

The Stainless Steel 18650 kit is a walk in the park...

There are many of my smaller kits that are harder to assembly because of how small they are.

Generally, the smaller the build, the more difficult the assembly. But none are anything to be afraid of.

My easy assembly kits are:

* SolarForce L2P kit
* Black 18650 kit
* DIY Green kit
* 3405 kit
* My Pocket Mini Kit is also pretty easy for being so small...

Oh really, Sorry never seen it. Will have to look it up. The main point was for new people, Maybe you could ask to post on your thread on the first post? Just trying to help you! :)

plexus needs help with it...

I have sold well over 500 similar kits and more difficult, smaller kits. (I don't know, I lost count, but it must be well over that, because I have bought and installed over 500 drivers from drlava) Not once have I ever had anybody complain.

I have had questions, to which I would answer with assembly tips. As shown in many of my threads...

I gave plexus the same support. (after acknowledging his loss)

But he says I have no support??

That is why I would like to know just exactly what he expects for support. He did not buy a 'Hot' option kit. (driver installed) But even if he did, the driver would have been tested, with current set. It would not have been my first try at one. (like in his case)

That is so true. He never asked any questions just made statements like he was the all knowing here to teach us how the world works. I prefer to leave my statements open for people to challenge. That is the only way we learn from each other. Now I think he has left the forum to get back to work on his book. "How to win friends and influence people" Diplomacy is a skill lost on him.

Here you go Toast a little excerpt from one of my reviews.

This part seems to have caused a certain individual some trouble.:rolleyes: But it actually is very hassle free.

You want to screw the pill and the heatsink into the head as one piece so they do not turn independently possibly twisting the wires.

You have a few options.
Jay sells a special tool for this.

SS%2018650%2013.jpg

But I have a simple way of doing that works very well. Get two sockets and use them to pinch the heatsink and the pill together and place in a vice.

Or you could just use a large set of pliers but I would suggest the vice.

I always just used my thumb and pinky finger to pinch them while spinning the head.

It's amazing what an opposable thumb can do when you think to use it.......This isn't directed at anyone.....certainly not the OP

No of course not, that would be completely inappropriate at this point in the tread, and something you are far above.

I think you should've just left it as the original pic. His avatar was just one sided enough as it was!

How do you think he'll get on selling a couple of Arctics over at PL? (Thanks to a member digging that one up ;) ). I don't think it's going to be very pretty.

It's a bit risky selling something like that second hand though isn't it? I mean, is the warranty transferrable? Does he state his returns policy? What's the customer service like? Practice in the mirror Plexus, "I'm sorry for your loss... I'm sorry for your loss... I'm sorry for your loss......."

(This, of course, in no way implies that, "I'm sorry for your loss", is just a brush off. It was quoted merely for comedic reasons. When used by high profile sellers here, it is a genuine sentiment. Used after selling an Arctic... Different fish.)

Whats funny is he was saying how great those arctics would be, the whole time I was trying to tell him they would be shit. Now he's trying to pawn them off on someone else. Idiot.

Is he seriously trying to sell them on PL? That deserves a facepalm there...
