I saw jayrob's hene so I had to try a couple myself.
THis is in the living room.
This is a hene from heuroscience that has been cleaned up and rewired.
I bought the box at Target, it was a display box for dolls. It is deep enough to put the power supply in the back and then I mounted a fake back in front of it.
The only wires coming through are the HV feeds for the top and bottom.
In the back section I mounted an on/off switch on the outside in the front section I drilled a hole for the beam to exit.
Inside the front area, I mounted a small wood board top and bottom that slide in and out when it is opened. The holes and spacing are just enough to hold the hene tube in place. This makes the ENTIRE tube visible and nothing else.
I have a diffraction filter sitting on top in this picture, neat effect IRL.
