The hardest thing in making shepperd's pie is getting the salt right. Its really easy to add too much. Just taste each layer, and add as needed. The soysauce, and gravy add a lot of salt, that why I didnt mention salting it. Remember that the mashed potatoes are salted too.

Some people add pees too.

Oh boy, My mom an mighty fierce Sheppard's Pie. So simple, but so delicious. But she kinda cheats (flavor packets ftw). She just uses a seasoned ground beef base, then corn, then mashed potatoes, then LOTS cheddar (for some reason it looks like that's spelt wrong) on top. Then bake till the chese is crispy, and leftovers? Hell yeah!! It only gets better the next time arround (must...contain....joke). It's frikkin amazing!
