CONTEST...Win an LPC-826 NOW GOING THRU MAY 25th

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

ok. the contest will be one month long, but i will also wait till the end of this week to make sure this contest gets enough exposure.

people keep your ideas private until the contest starts.

at rhd, i will hit you up in pm.

at the rhd, anselm... you can make what ever you want. the forum votes. but it has to be directly related to lasers. and if the idea is questionable i will let the forum decide if it is allowed in.

thanks for the advice tj.

michael.

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

Um...if you guys need a Flex to run a diode, then you dont belong in this contest. There are plenty of almost free drivers you can make. Remember this is a creative project, not a high power one. You dont need choice laser parts to come up with something cool.

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

It will be interesting to see what the contestants come up with. Looks like a great idea! :)

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

FYI, Alf was talking about Laserdude6789. Thanks, alf.

Contest looks cool. Hope this will promote some cool creations, it's been kind of a lull lately. Looking forward to some good, coherent posts by our very bright members

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

Uhh... uhh... gotta come up with something.. (well, the 2 lasers I built a few days ago aren't really anything spectacular).

Id be interested in this contest (assuming I can actually do something that is :p )

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

bump woot!!!

also remember guys that it CAN NOT be a project that has already discused/reviewed/talked about here.

C'mon guys and girls!!!!!

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

I have a awesome idea but im not a technician...at all...although my idea is simple.
I would like to share it though but then its against the rules?

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

You can share it now if you would like but if you have shared it before it will not be a valid entry.

and remember people YOU MUST CREATE A TUTORIAL THREAD TO HAVE A VALID ENTRY

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

BUMP!!!!

official contest start date is monday.

michael.

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

You must also make a new thread in the appropriate open forum with pics and descriptions of your progress.
So just a quick question.
Am I supposed to document the thing as I am doing it, or is it OK to present the whole
thing in the end when it's done?
Does the deadline 29th this month still stand?

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

you do not have to do a live step by step. just as long as your "tutorial" is up before judging begins.

near the end of the contest i will make an official list of who is entered. and be for i open a judging poll all entrants should post a link in this thread to their "tutorial".

and the 29th will not be the correct date. i am giving 1 month time from the official start date. i don't have that determined yet because so few people seem interested. but more than likely monday will be the start date.

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

Alright I got an idea!

No time to waste, to the garage!

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

Only built items, or also just plans ?

I mean, i have a lot of plans i made (and still i'm making new ones), but that had never occasion to transform in concrete projects, both for lack of time and no access to lathe/mill ..... if also plans count, i probably can submerse you, with them :p :D

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

it has to be an actual thing lol.... it doesnt have to be a laser it could be a host, heatsink, driver???? just has to be directly related to lasers pointer/labbies

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

I am so slammed with work for others, that I cannot spend the time or energy needed right now :(

So many projects. So little time

PLUS, I truly believe that this should be for "newer" builders only ;)

***************************************************

HEY! If someone has an idea, but cannot get the parts, how about if some of us "older" builders (I really am old ;) ) donate some of the parts needed?

If someone has a pretty cool idea and contacts me with it, I would probably help with the needed parts.

I won't go broke helping. For example I will NOT provide a 445nm diode, a flexdrive, and/or custom heat sink.

However, I have a few things, like some 6X diodes, Groove2 drivers, modules, etc. that I would sacrifice to a creative idea.

For me, this is NOT just to get anyone a nice laser. This will be to focus on creativity.

Peace,
dave

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

thanks for that contribution dave. i don't have many parts but i could donate some motors and optics.
