Can anyone fix this???

I have a 8x diode that i broke the pins off of and i want to know if anyone could fix it i am willing to donate it for testing research so if anyone can do anything with it pm me!!!

I soldered the diode to rckstr driver and as i screwed the bottom of the aixiz housing on the driver spun with it and broke all three pins off there are no soldering points left... it really messed up my day but you guys know how that is!!!!!

im pretty sure i can fix it. my phr pins broke off a few times and i was able to solder them together strong enough so they would stay on. but it does depend a lot on how far the pins broke down.

how do you solder the pins back and then solder the diode to driver?:thinking:
if you touch the solder iron agian the solder will melt so the pins will be off the diode.
EDIT:i had the same problem with phr but i solder wire directly from the diode to the driver not pin to diode to driver and it was working.if you meant this sorry.

haha ya thats wat i meant. i actually tried both concepts tho.
like, iv done just the pins, and then added the driver very quickly.
but i guess its because i had help from my brother who held the pin
in the hole so it would melt and slip away.

it is easy to fix this but i don't think there will be much members to try this by risking to kill the diode,so pick a good builder,i recomend daquin to test it also.

ya i recommend daguin also. mostly, since i dont have an LPM.
or maybe one of us could fix it, and then send it to daguin cuz
we dont know if he can even fix it. if he can, send it to him. if not
send it to one of us, well fix it, and then send it to daguin.

You will probably need some distance (and a wire heat sink) between the repaired diode and the solder joint to the driver to get it assembled.

I am willing to do this, with the caveat that it doesn't always work. Sometimes the "stub" is down inside the insulation. Sometimes the pin got pulled or twisted (and the wire to the die broken) when the pins got twisted off.

I just repaired a laser that got twisted off for a man in the UK and I just coached another member on doing this.

Ok i got some good news and some bad news today i picked up three more lg bh08 burners lol because i had a little time on my hands and decided to build my 8x !!!!well as some of you already know i broke off the pins on the first diode so i went to the second one big mistake lol i burnt it out adjusting the pot on the rckstr driver damn i was so pissed i spend $1000 on lg bh08 burners
this week alone thats f*#king crazy if you ask me

Maybe you should have a more experienced builder do your 8x build, With such an $$$$ diode. But i do have to commend you on trying over and over again!

Lesson learned -- ALWAYS set the current with a test/dummy load. The pots are sensitive and sometimes "jump" in current significantly with just a minor turn.
