Building a simple white laser, possible or unrealistic?

^
Drivers are microboost for violet, V5 flex for red and of course the dpss module's driver as well.

Yes, 7 color capable (R,G,VorB,Y,M,A,W) until I can work out something better. But I will NOT be selling any complete lasers, just the hosts.

is the head carbon fiber????? if so can you pm me. i have interest in learning how to work with/make carbon fiber parts. more specifically, i want to make modules out of my 445 and my dual red for my projector. i've been thinking of making a U type chanel of carbon fiber that can slide over and screw to my .25" thick aluminum module base. purely for cosmetic.

thanks mucho!!!!

michael.

^ The final product will not actually have any carbon fiber, just machined aluminum. The carbon fiber in the pic is merely to cover the parts from view.

^ Wow that is beautiful. One of these days I need to buy or create a white laser.

Ah, now that's better. Cool little device there Ramsey. What is the power source?

Single 18650..... I've been working on converting my mini lathe to CNC, lots of time is being spent on Cad to Cam to Gcode conversion and setup, as well as the mechanical modifications to the lathe. Mach3 is pretty awesome BTW. Trying to produce as many of these as I can before I post any sales thread.

So tell me something about yours Morgan, throw me a bone, lets see a pic or something.

Morgan I am an old geeser in Md. I am building a nice RC plane and want to do something that would simulate a bright landing light (white) out of the nose of the plane. A white laser is the perfect answer. I have 3 and enjoy them. Sound interesting? My plane has a 4' wing span just to give you some sense of size. 4' is not all that big.
1) Weight is a big issue the plane has to be perfectly balanced from front to back. The motor/batteries/other electronics are already up front so we're probably talking something around 50 grams.
2) Amps are a big deal due to the amp hungry motor, servo's, electronic receiver etc. so the fewer the better or the batteries drain in no time at all. Going to have to be something like 5-20 amps. If we you could put something together I could wire this in and flip it on remotely with my transmitter. I will have led steady wing tip lights on too. So again the amps. As far as power supply. . . I will be using 11.1v LiPo's.
Let's talk. I want to hire you. If you agree I'll take some pics and measurements.

I think that white laser would be cool but... it would be hard to mount it on the plane without unbalancing it ... and the laser diodes are pretty fragile... just imagine .. you crash the plane.. :D :D good luck on that project it would be interesting to see :)

By looking at the claimed output values (Output Power(mW)
RGV: 150/100/150MW; 200/100/200MW; 200/200/200MW
RGB: 200/100/200MW; 200/200/200MW) I don't think it would mix to produce "white" very well.
We will have to see if it's the real deal. I'm not too worried though, my design is of very high quality, allows for modular swapping of lasers, full adjustment of optics and it is also patent pending.

Just use a high brightness white LED and a lens. It will be far smaller, lighter, cheaper and more robust than trying to combine RGB or RGV lasers.

This looks and sounds absolutely awesome.

When do you think this will be for sale?
And should I start saving my pennies?

Just look at this video Jet Lasers RGB Laser Pointer :wtf::wtf:

The laser doesn't combine any beam... it is just emitting three separate beams from different holes... I don't think they are even focusable.....:thinking: I don't like it ....

White laser beam cannot be achieved at all ......

Yeah that laser seems pointless to me.
What good are all three lasers in one host if you can't combine them?

Yeah but that's the 3in1 version. They offer now on their website a 7in1 version...

The one in the video is an old prototype i guess.
