Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

You can add five of these I will donate, that will make at least six winners:

532nm Green Laser Pen Point Military Torch Flashlight 1mW 5MILES 5mW 8000M Range | eBay

I will measure the output power of each one and include the measured info showing the amount of 808nm IR and 532nm green. They will all be 50-60 mw combined IR and 532nm due to no IR filter. I expect the real 532nm power to be closer to 30-40mw. If the drawing goes beyond Jan 5th, I will have to mail them all out for someone else to distribute as I will be working in a remote location for over a month.

Edit: I already have them in hand now.

Added your donation, thank you! :)

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

However you want to divide things, maybe first drawing gets the 520nm and one of these, 2nd drawing one of these and so on?

I think it might be easier if we see how many people take part in the r4ffle and they each compete for the prizes.

We also think the following:
$1-24=1 ticket
$25-49=2 tickets
$50-74=3 tickets
$75-$100=4 tickets

We also need to figure out who will pay for shipping. The donator or the winners. I have a 532 eBay pen I can give rid of since I barely use it, and can add to this donation as a prize.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

I'm adding five more for a total of ten of the 532nm units. The good news is since I have a large number of these, I can test each of them and make sure good units are being sent. Only concern I have is that a minor does not get ahold of them. I could send them out myself if no one minds a bit of a delay if I'm out of town for a month, otherwise I need to know who to send them to so they can be individually mailed.

ty Laser project for helping me and my family it is very much appreciated

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

No problem, I bought too many of these and they aren't doing anyone any good sitting here.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

(I would've just bought some tickets instead, but I'm not even halfway to meeting the comment number quota.) :banned:

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

It has been changed to 20 posts, you now have 4 tickets ;)

-Alex

Awesome! Thanks, man. Maybe if I keep posting this evening, I'll meet the fifty and you can re-up the quota... :D

Also, I vote for the winners paying shipping.
Reasoning: We're giving the money as a donation. So, if we win, we're basically getting a free laser. With that "train of thought" (Dream Theater reference) why should the donators also have to pay for shipping the lasers they are already giving away for free...?
In summary: The ones who win the lasers are getting the chance to aquire them for the low cost of whatever it takes to ship them to their doors.

*RaffleList*
-Master Phillip
-To participate you must need positive reputation, and have at least 20 quality posts.
-Each entry is $5.
-Winners of the raffle will need to pay standard shipping fees to them, shouldn't be more then $6

Prize list:
1) 520nm 80mW Kryton Grove(donated by vortish)
2) 5 532nm eBay type lasers(donated by Laser project)

-Alex

This is very confusing  first you say each entry is $5 and the winner pays shipping.

And now anything from $1 to $24 is one entry? And you don't know who pays shipping. You should probably decide on the details and stick to it and then more people will probably participate. Also with 3 ways to send money how are you keeping track of the entries? Do the people need to post in this thread to enter or will they be entered automatically if they send money?

I agree with you.

This is what we are finalizing on. Members who donate(depending on the amount) will need to post on this thread mentioning how much they donated and will then be added on the Raffle List with the amount of tickets they purchased. Furthermore, the people who are donating their items will pay for shipping to the r4ffle winners. We have also removed the go fund-me page, donations are via PP only now. to make this as simple as possible.

I donated $100 (because you asked how much)
I'm assuming you already knew that since you decided to give me four tickets.

I would like to reiterate my thoughts on shipping:
I stand firm that the winners should pay shipping (although I can see how it could, potentially, deter donations).
With that said, I can understand your position on having the donators pay the shipping and would like to offer: If I win any of the lasers, I would be more than happy to pay the shipping costs (actually, I would insist). :takeit:

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

Anyone have the link to the other donation thread? From a while ago

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

Hey Greenlander, Thank you for doing this. Its awesome.
Is the link not working for anyone else? Its not for me.
