I need help choosing what my next laptop brand should be. I have a budget of no more than $750 after tax and shipping. So obviously Crapple is out of the question.

My requirements are....
I5 processor
4gig ram
500gig HD
And a dedicated graphics card.

This leaves most higher end brands out of the question.

So this leaves me with a few options.
1.) Acer. It by far is the fastest for the money.
2.) Asus. This compang has been one of my favs for years.
3.) Toshiba. This would be a very low end toshiba.
4.) MSI. About equivalent to Asus.
5.) lenovo. Don't know much about them.
6.) other.

As u all may know, I just sold my computer to pay for rent, so it will take a while to get this one replaced.

I currently have an Asus G73JH-B1 and it's pretty awesome for gaming! However, the price tag is a bit high. For your price range Toshiba is a good brand. I had a Toshiba laptop I used for over 4 years and it still works to this day.

Acer is good for the price, but I think there are some reliability issues in the long run.

Here's a site that may help you decide:

Hmm, I don't see anything wrong with it. It looks like it has good reviews on amazon, but more expensive than Newegg.

My cousin had a toshiba laptop which she had dropped numerous times and is still working about 4 years after she bought it

So id say Toshiba or Asus

The lenovo is the better buy, but which company is better?
I honestly don't know, but I am a huge fan of Asus.

Another thing to consider...
Asus 1 year accident warranty (drop it, water, other)
Asus 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Lenovo 1 year manufacturer warranty.

Also could u post a link to the lenovo please.

Scroll up to my first post "Lenovo - Laptops" it's a link to that model.

They are both good companies. Personally I would go with the Lenovo, but ultimately it's your decision.

I'd go for the Asus for the CPU and drive speed.

Cpu is slightly faster, both have the same cache. Lenovo goes 100mhz faster in turbo, pretty much a toss-up if you ask me.

7200rpm is going to use more battery power to operate, but go slightly faster.

Those aren't reasons, they are toss-ups. :)

Actually click the links I put to the two differnt CPUs, Jufran.

In terms of value for money I'd go Acer, and in fact own two myself. I have repaired 100's of laptops for a major retailer and their quality is as good (or bad) as any of the other brands in my experience.

This is actually a poll I guess, so feel free to say which one you like :p

Acer/Gateway isn't in the same category as ASUS and Lenovo, IMHO. Even though they have gotten much better at making laptops/desktops throughout the years.

$999 with 17 dollar shipping on newegg for *recertified*. Little out of his price range for new, don't you think?
