I Once got pulled out of an ambulance at gun point, thrown to the gravel and hand cuffed...
I was sent to a neighboring town to borrow one of their ambulances because one of our had broke down.
My boss instructed me to go to Cole Camp, MO and i was to meet their director at the station and borrow "Medic 32"
we strolled through town and noticed an ambulance at the 4-way in town with a license plate labeled "medic 32"
we stopp and looked, nobody was around, doors were unlocked with keys in the ignition.
we got back into the car and continued to the station. The doors were locked and nobody was inside. he was suppose to meet us there but nobody was there. behind the station was and old ambulance that looked broke down, and had no marking or license plates.
so we went back to the 4-way.....
I called my boss who did not answer his phone.
So i said screw it and hopped in the ambulance and drove away. After all, my boss had spoke with their boss, and they had arrange for us to borrow "medic 32" from them. cole camp is a small town of 300 or so people. I thought maybe the director had to go somewhere so he left it there for us so we'd see it as we came into town.
So i drove off. I got about half way to windsor where i work and noticed a cop behind my partner who was following me in his car. So i pulled over to wait for him as i figured he was being pulled over for speeding or something.
Next thing i know the cop is behind me.
at this point i figured something was wrong with the truck, like a door was open or something was hanging and he jsut wanted to let me know. Then i look in my side mirror and notice him charging toward the truck with his gun drawn, screaming for me to show my hands, so i'm throwing my hands out the window screaming "wow wow wow"
he opens my door, starts pulling on me screaming for me to gt out, but i'm keeping ym hands up in clear site and have no intention of reaching down to undo my seat belt.
He unbuckles my seat belt and pulls me out of the truck and onto the gravel driveway where i lay hand cuffed on my stomach until he finds out that it's a misunderstanding.
Turns out that the ambulance was parked there because the on-duty crew was having lunch in one of the restaurants there....
So they came out and their ambulance was missing.
the truck was marked "medic 32" because each time they get a new truck, they keep the same names. So i was suppose to borrow "old medic 32" and i took "new medic 32"
I didn't get into any trouble for this, i think everyone just wanted to forget it...mostly because they made a huge deal out of nothing, when they could of just came on the radio and told me to come back.....but they never thought of doing that.
